my contract is for sidewalks, steps, stoops, and landings.
I am 25% done i have used 2700 gallons of water.
How can i decrease this??
I don't do enough flatwork to know the best process .....
Heck I use about 360 gallons just to clean one vent hood ... You are doing great... Are if your worried about water usage ,, do like my neighbor buy a large funnel and put it on your water tank, Do the rain dance and (HELLO) instant water... ( JUST KIDDING )
WHY ME WHY ME ... I was praying for rain last night while my machine was burning to a crisp...
yeah you are def over paying for water. When I have to goto the water treatment plant to use their quick fill it only costs .25 per 100 gallons and that is expensive.
Fire hydrant meters I just paid $6.80 per 1000 gallons and we used 8000 gallons and we washed 12 decent sized 2 story multi unit condo buildings and this town was more than most plus they charge a weekly fee that I didnt like
I just rented two hydrant meter from another water company they charge less per gallon its a cheap downpayment of $100 and no other fees
sorry to hijack thread... Where should I go or who do you contact for a hydrant meter? Jeff, $100 and no other fees other than what you use sounds good?!
Is it the county I contact, or water management authority ?
Yup like Dave says its who ever the water dept is in the area you will be working, it could be the town or city or private company. That $100 is that one city I have put $500 and up to $1000 deposit on Hydrant meters and some areas don't even allow using the hydrant meters now. I think most still do.
In my area I have to contact the fire department in order to get a meter. And It is generally a $300 deposit.
Though I do have my own meter as well too. But that is only because I had to install fire hydrants at a property of mine a while back
Why aren't you using their water? I did a townhome center and all the houses were on a common meter and split the bill. I just hooked up to whatever unit was nearby and used that.
Here the meter deposit is $700 and you have an initial $40.00 which includes 13,000 gallons. After the first 13,000 gallons then every 2000 gallons it cost you $3.00.
You are really over-paying.
Who are you paying that much to? Is it the water department or some
scam-artist?
This is what you need to look into before starting any job, always negotiate for the best price or look elsewhere.
