Chris from Texas warns about CHEAP Teflon Tape.
He couldn't be more correct.
DON'T SKIMP on your Teflon sealers.
Some like the paste, some like the tape.
I have used both with good results.

Remember that when you are using teflon tape or paste, it is not a sealer. It is a lubricant that allows the fitting to be tighter. So, with Teflon Tape you only need three wraps to make it sufficient.

I always prefer the tape over the paste. I hate to get the paste on everything around, it just moves on it's own and I do not know how it gets everywhere. hahaha

I have had some leaks with the paste but hardly ever with enough tape on the threads.

I have had some very thin teflon tape and I am sure it came from China. It was on special from a supplier that I will not mention but I have had good luck with the local stuff like Home Depot and Lowe's and even harbor freight, believe it or not.

I guess it is just whatever works for you or what you like best is what matters most.

When I use the paste, I brush it on, and wait a FEW minutes.
THEN I screw it back together.
SEEMS to work better that way, just dont wait TOO long.
I am impatient, tape blows in the wind, and twists on me
One or two good brushes of the paste, and I am good to go.
The TRICK to the paste is getting TEFLON Paste.
Just because it SAYS Teflon, dont mean it has a high percentage of Teflon IN it
The link I posted is about as good as it gets for Teflon Tape or Paste.
Plus, they be right here in Florida !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
