Hey guys,

I'm interested in the filter exchange service for restaurants. What is the average charge for this service, and how often do you go into the restaurants. Weekly?, Monthly?

any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello Hayden,

The way it works is - you purchase all sized filters for your accounts, keeping control of them. You set up a program to go by and pick-up the dirties and replace them with your cleans. Carry the dirties back to your shop where you have them dipped and cleaned and stored. You then go back out in a week, 2 weeks, 3
weeks etc, to exchange the clean for dirty. The average service charge is $1.50 - $3.00 per filter. It's kinda like a hotel linen service and you better have a contract for your own good. The initial overhead is high since you have to buy and store the filters-you are really maintaining your customers system to keep out the competition. The customers generally couldn't care less- it's just one less thing for them to not put through the dishwasher.

If I remember correctly a company charged about $30.00 for filters up to six then charged an individual price for each one over the 6.
This guy buys high quality Stainless Steel Filters from AIRCON out of PA. Start up cost is high and finding an area to clean without problems of the run off difficult. On the other hand, this companys profits are high because of this service. Most pay cash.
