UAMCC concerns & PWI help

The UAMCC is moving in the right direction. We have been getting a lot of questions about who, what, where and when. If it helps, log into the new forum and post any questions or concerns you might have. Being there to help contractors grow their business is what we all want. Please note, This is not a platform for a new organization. This thread is here because Ron wants a place to discuss problems we all face daily. We all have concerns with fuel charges, chemicals, and business in general. Ron has provided a great place to help others benefit each other and network. As he says, we are all here to help each other. Please use this thread to grow your business. Thank You.

My concern is we need a forum that has positive id on members. A real organization needs to provide that type. As stated before, I would like to see you succeed. This is a mistake from the begining.

When Mike and I started the PWNA bbs , people had to be real and verified. Its was truly the most successful and proffessional BBS running. It was then turned over to many people and lost the that rule.

They had major trouble and no one wanted to manage it. They closed it.

I have mentioned this three times and you have made no attempt to answer this question.

Ron,

Your question regarding the I.D. will be a topic of the transition team conference call this Sunday. We are not ignoring you. I wanted to see if other contractors felts the same way you did as it relates to the real I.D. part. We purposely did not reply because the UAmCc direction will be based on the majority of contractors feedback vs. just a few.

I see the merit in your post. Look for a formal response sometime after Sunday.

Carlos, Sometimes you just have to lead and make these decsions. I respect the democracy thing. TRULY

Call Mike at Delco, call Doc from the PWNA. This guys remember, the people your dealing with now may not. I just dont want to see you make the same mistakes. TRULY

I agree with Ron, positive ID's either with real company names or real full names should be required. That will keep the BS to a minimum and stop a lot of headaches for you as you start up.

There is so much soap boxing, BS and bogus information on BBS's because it's too easy for people to hide behind play names and make accusations or BS comments. If it's going to be a true professional org and BBS there needs to be accountability. Without positive ID's you can't have accountability for peoples actions online.

I was one of the BBS admins for PWNA and I tried to get that and other suggestions passed and it never happened.

The board is being closely monitored and signature lines will be mandatory. Trust me, things will not get out of hand but by the same token moderation will be kept to a minimum. At this stage of the game if someone wants to say the UAMCC is the worst concept of which they ever heard, they have that right as long as they are identifiable. We are not the Gestapo, I think promoting heavy handed tactics like limiting the choice of someone's screen name is counterproductive. My screen name is the same one I have used for years on the forums and my signature line has my full name and company name. This is the way every forum on the internet as well as the ones from this industry have been setup. The board has a suggestion box forum where topics like this can be discussed.

If you require the full identity , you wont need moderation. Also, the PWNA was the first to do this and it was great.

I thought maybe you want to be the leaders and dare to be different?

I have no problem with screen names, as long as the poster is identified in their signature.

John, you have been around. You have seen it happen. If you dont make it a rule from the get go you will have multiple guys with fake ids.

Zippo allready joined the Uamcc bbs. LOL

Thats what i think funny, anyway. I suggested..........OH well

Let me know when its like that, I wont sign on probably or even join if theres not going to be a different format than what we have.

Good luck, no ill will. I just dont have time for another BBS at this time. Wont say never, would say yes if Id was positive.

I realize its not easy.

Great find there David, it is right there in plain english and in writing.

They just went against their own policy.

I do not know if they are making up things as they go but it does seem like it.
