How do you put on Gutter Zap?

Clean County PW

For those of you who put Gutter Zap on to clean the exterior of the gutters, How do you put it on? Do you spray it on thru the down stream injection in th PW? Do you spray it on thru a sure flow sprayer? Pump up sprayer? Brush? etc...

I use a chemical called Miracle Wiz which I get locally. First I wet the house and gutters with the PW. Then I dip in my brush in a bucket and put on the chemical. I have to brush the gutters a little then I hose off the gutters with the PW. The gutters come out like new.

I pay around $45 for 5 gal. of this stuff. If I get it on the siding of the house I have to get it off immiedetly or it could strip the house color a little. Strong stuff no doubt but not strong enough to just spray it on to completely take out the black lines on the gutters.

Also what is the cost for this product and is Exterior the only company that sells it?

I use a ShurFlo but I always have some premixed in the pump up also, that way if I am only doing a roof cleaning I just grab the pump up after finishing the roof I just spray the gutters with the gutterzap and rinse with the garden hose after dwelling a few minutes. See if you dont already have your P/W out the pump up is the easiest way without having to pull ShurFlo and hoses around(unless of course it is a 2 story house)...
Just my .02 Worth... Andrew

Xterior is the only company that sells it.

I use a pump up sprayer........or my deckhand.

A couple years ago, I applied it a couple times with the xjet, but that wastes too much product, and gets too much of it on the house.

Steve,

That depends on what the house is sided with.......if it is alum siding, then it really does matter if you get it on the house, becauce where ever the gutter zap gets on the aluminum will look cleaner then everywhere else.

A couple of times, I washed an entire alum sided home wth dilluted gutter zap........worked great, but was murder on the windows. Never did try adding the Cascade to it......I wonder if that would help with the windows.

Mike, Wet the house down first. As for the windows mis 1/2Gal. of Zap with two of the new size jugs of bleach and fillthe rest of a 5/Gal. bucket with water and use as your house wash and this will take care of the windows. Zap by itself will leave a film on the windows. Give me a call, I would like to talk with you.

Is gutter Zap still around?

As far as I know people are still using it.

For what gutter conditions are they using Gutter Zap? We have had great success getting white gutters clean, (without scrubbing), but I would like to stay ahead of any problems?

My guys use it for most any conditions...but the blacker they are the more need for a stronger chemical such as Gutter Zap. The problem with the black streaks on gutters is the electrostatic bonding that occurs. You have to break the bond to get the streaks off and just bleach and plain soap will not break that bond.

local pickup

i am picking up gutter zap at my local northern tool supply. cost is around the same that xterior sells it for i believe. great stuff for sure.
