Brought this up a few months ago to see if there was some interest in forming a Texas group to share ideas,promote our industry,network with others in our area,share info on projects and get discounts from distributors.We could have get togethers in different areas in the state to share info or demos, and have a Round Table once or twice a year.I would like to keep it simple without all the politics that sometimes tears a group apart....What does everyone think....Got Ideas? Who wants help put this together?

Gene, do you think this would be something separate from the UAMCC, or perhaps work with the UAMCC to achieve your goals? Perhaps (and I definitely don't speak for the UAMCC) look to be head of a Texas Chapter of the UAMCC?

Not looking to head anything.Just wanting to know if a group of us could share info,network our state ,meet different places to share info and get to know each other.As far as the UAMCC I think they will go with regional chapters and that would be on a bigger scale.
 
Gene, Im going to put something together in the next couple of weeks for all of us to get together for an afternoon. I sent a post out about it, but didnt get much response. Id like to do it in the next 2 weeks, probably somewhere north of Houston, that way it will be somewhere kind of central.
 
If it is like the 2nd weekend or later in September I might be able to make it, just let me know where.

Have you thought about what the discussions will be about?
 
Scott and Gene, Sounds like a great. If it is in Houston try to keep it to the West as much as possible, for those who are communting from central Texas. I know a couple PW contractors who would like to attend but arent internet folks. Keep us posted on a time and location.

I vote for 2nd or later weekend in Sept.
 
If y'all decide to meet in New Orleans I got the hookup on the hotel!

We can do this up my way somewhere. I'm In Willis just North of Conroe. It would help the guys from North , East & West of me heading towards Dallas too. I realize it's a little travel time for you guys in H town...

How does saturday September 13th sound? What if we did, say Hempstead? Its northwest of Houston, about the same distance from Houston as willis, but makes a shorter drive for Gene and Centex and those folks.

What would everyone like to hear about most? Door to door marketing, internest marketing, procedures, business formations (llc, SP, partnerships, etc..), equipment, etc??
 
What about the drive for us guys coming up from the south? Or should I say just me? just kidding.
 
Someone needs to find a place where we can meet for a while, not sure of places there but here there are not that many unless it is a meeting room like at a hotel.
 
Im thinking like a golden corral. They give free meeting rooms for large groups since we'll all be eating. That way we dont have to worry about catering or anything.
 
That sounds like a good idea, what do they make that is good? I have tried the chicken fried steak and it was not that good and that was both here, and two locations in San Antonio.

I don't mind giving them another chance if there is something that they make that actually tastes good. Any suggestions?
