Is it legal to put fliers ect. on mail boxes

I'm in the Snapfinger Farm s/d by the Food Depot (155 & 138) I have a walk through at a complex this morning I will call you later and try to set something up for the middle of next week.

give me a call again Loran

Take the time to knock the good ones

If you are driving by stop at the bad looking houses. Get a conversation and sell em!!! Sold a good one tonight in about 20 stops and 5 conversations. I wouldn't touch the mailbox.

Our new shirts get the conversation started if they have any interest and gets a lot of "NO THANKS" with the others, at least it saves some time.

Al,
I saw your flyers in my neighborhood yesterday, off of Hwy 138, they look good.
I have been doing the same as you, going to selected neighborhoods and taping my flyers to the side of the mailboxes. I was told that as long as you don't put the flyers inside of the mailboxes your safe.
This has worked great for me and has generated a lot of work I usually do this if I’m working in the neighborhood, saves on postage and since I’m there I minus well do some marketing in the area. Good luck.

Loren

Loren, I sure am glad I hit your mailbox with one of my postcards, I have found out the best responses always don't come the form of money!!
I am looking very forward to working with you on different things we have talked about.
Today me a Loren went on a roof job on a pool enclosure that I had and I thought it would take about a hour to do but it turned into a 4 hour job,
(don't put two people that like to talk to work together)
It was great to share ideas and different methods of washing, these are some of pics of the different things we used to wash with.
I just wish all my competitors are like Loren!!

There was a guy a few years back that taped a pressure washing flyer to my grandfathers black mailbox. My grandfather chased him down and gave him a huge lecture, didn't here the conversation, but after the conversation, he was driving and picking up all the flyers in the neighborhood. I know taping it is illegal, but I'm pretty sure even touching it is illegal. I couldn't do that, I'd be afraid of getting shot. Even when I started out with door hangers, i felt uncomfortable doing that. But hey whatever works for you, I say go for it!

I just sent out 700 post cards via every door direct mail using the post office. I was placing flyers on the boxes using the flag to hold it down. Problem was the rain came and ruined them and the mail person turned me in to the post master. so far The post office is the cheapest i found, And I got 3 calls in 3 days. Total bill is paid on the first 2 jobs. My copy and print guy is awesome. I was gonna use value print but Todd charged me the same and I got 1000 more cards.

It must be different in other areas because I went to my local postal office and asked about taping flyers to the front of mailbox, is this illegal? They informed me it is NOT illegal to tape any form of advertising to a mailbox, it is only illegal if you do these 3 things:

1: Cover the letters on the side of the mailbox
2: Tie it around the flag because it is considered not operable by postman or homeowner
3: DO NOT PUT IT INSIDE THE MAILBOX

If you do these three things you can and will be fined if turned in by homeowner or post master. I have been taping flyers to mailboxes for years and have had a great return. But with gas prices and now with having EDDM I am looking to go the direct mail route
