Dude..get real..Real men use it like Monkey Butt powder for them dark musty areas.. j/k:D

Actually..this thread is crazy! Shouldn't ever touch caustic or most any the chems we use with bare hands. Is foolish to promote. You'll regret it if a friend or buddy or some unsuspecting family member watching is as carefree due to this display and hurts or scars themselves for life.

What do you do with it? What are you cleaning? Caustic flakes, beads, Sodium hydroxide, rubbing alcohol. I want to learn more. Trying to understand all of this makes my eyeballs sweat. Where can you buy it if you needed it?

WOW I dont even have most of the stuff on the back of that trailer anymore, we have that trailer in use with a smaller rig now its 16 feet but some of those reels and that small generator as well as that little tank are long gone.

Im so confused now...ive read not to mix caustic in a plastic bucket and to wait for it to cool down before putting in my pump sprayer and here Ive seen it mixed in a plastic bucket and read people mixing it hot and spraying it. :banghead:

Actually, I just know about the sodium hydroxide and not about the flakes or beads. When we talk about the Sulfur regarding to the flakes and the beads, it has different name in chemistry like rhombic sulfur. Do NaOH have the same case?

Since this thread got bumped... I discovered tonight that not all bags of caustic flakes are created equally.

This afternoon, I got a few new bags from our local supplier, that was in a totally different bag and label. Did my normal mix (4cups/gal.) and HOLY CRAP, I thought I made a bomb!

I mean it literally boiled!!!

Just got back in from checking it after mixing about 5hrs ago, and the bucket is still entirely to hot to touch...
I wouldn't dare use a pump-up sprayer with this mix.

I've gained alittle more respect for Sodium Hydroxide.

Why would "this" mix be so unstable, compared to the mixes in the past?
:sorry:

We use a lot of stripping decks and I wouldn't want to carry all that liquid. Cheaper to ship powder and you can mix it stronger

Sodium Hydroxide is aggressive I would definitely avoid any direct skin contact.

Powder can be mixed stronger than the liquid, unless they have mixed it to the max concentration (doubtful) and you use it straight...not that you would want to. Also it is less weight to carry around with the powder you can mix on site.

Sounds like you got ahold of micropearls. The import stuff seems hotter that usual as well

Just getting back from washing grease bins, dumpsters and a pretty nasty dumpster pad.

Gotta say, i LOVE my new mix!!!

It makes me feel all tingly...
