Just stopped in to say hello. :) It has been quite a while since I posted, but I've looked in every now and then.

Good to see some familiar names and a lot of new folks since I was last here.

Guess I will just look around for a while! ;)

Hey Dave,
I was beginning to wonder if all was well with you. Glad to see you are back.

Thanks for thinking of me Scott,

I've been doing Ok. I had surgery about a year ago to remove skin cancer. They took most all of the skin off the top of my head! Over exposure to the sun is what caused this to happen so they tell me. Seldom wore a hat in my younger years! They believe they got it all.

Good to see you back Dave.

Thanks guys,

It is good to be back.

A word of caution to those who do not wear hats!

The doctors told me that this condition started when I was much younger. It was not cool to wear a hat when I was young. They tell me that it can take as much as 30 years for this skin condition to surface.

Here is a picture of me after having the staples removed. The nurse said that she removed about 100 stainless steel staples!

I nearly always have a hat on when I am outside working. Broad brimmed hats will keep you cooler than no hat at all. You can spend a little, or spend a lot. I prefer Tilley hats, but they are not cheap. You do get what you pay for, though.

Dave, that looks flat out nasty and painful. I am glad that the results are good, though maybe not to look at.

Dave, Im glad you are still with us. MY FIL worked the Railroad 33 yrs. and he is dealing with simular issues. But it is his ears, fore arms and hands. His ears are notched like a pig.
Are you still playing with those antique tractors?

The operation took about 2-1/2 hours under general amnesia. Over about 6 months I had 14 pre & post operation doctor appointments.

Thank God for health insurance!

Most of the pain was at the donor site (my thigh). I had a reaction to the medication that they put in the bandage.

I've attached a couple more pictures. If anyone feels that these are to graphic to post here go ahead and delete them.

All in all things have turned out Ok other than having a divot on the top of my head! When I hit something on my head there is no fatty tissue to help absorb the blow, so I wear a hard hat most all of the time now.

Yep, I’ve still been playing with Old tractors and Trucks. Here is a picture of some of my Old Iron Toys during a tractor ride last year.

Dave glad to see you getten well.

Nice photo of your antique truck an tractor. Got your stuff parked in front of an antique building with almost antique people in the background.
Is that trailer an antique also or is it a remake?

Face it. Dave has the coolest toys. I would love to have some of the stuff that he has.

The last picture was taken at the University of Illinois (old building in background).

Here is another picture of the unit. The trailer is a 1970 DoMor. We rebuilt it so I could haul it behind the old truck. By the way the truck is a 1946 White WB-22, 1930 Case Model C on the truck and a 1938 Case Model CC on the trailer.

Dave,
It's good hearing from you, wish the news was better and you had not been in that situation. Hope this note finds you with plans for something fun to do ahead!
