I dont carry anything when I am working. I even stash my wallet when I am working. If I am approached, I tell them they need to find my wife, since she is the one with all the money. It usually works pretty well. Every once in a while, I will carry some singles in my pocket, and will give them out, just to see how many people hit me up. My record is 35 people in one night. I had one guy threaten me. He walked away after I started laughing at him.

58 views and 2 posts, is this a scary subject, we do have the right to bear arms, well at least for now.

I carry every day, even now I am heading to church and it is in my back pocket. You can't tell when some idiot is going to have a bad day and come in firing away.

Once I get better established in the commercial sector, have already planned on carrying...as much of the work is done at night - which you all
are aware of.

That is exactly right, you hear it everyday. In a mall a restaurant, home invasion while you are watching tv with your kid's.

Anyone who thinks they only need to defend themselfs when they are in a bad part of town is not thinking straight.

When i think of all those senarios of armed attacks, where if just one person had a gun!! the incident would have ended differently :(

In this time we live in, the wild west is not to far off

I'm too mentally unstable to carry a gun! :D

Well there you go, another reason to carry. Larry may come to a R/T with a vengence against Low Ballers and clear the room. :D :D

I dont carry anymore.I did 12 years in law enforcement. The only people you are going to pull a gun on and it matters to em are the ones that aren't gonna mess with you anyway. The ones that are gonna rob you,you will have to shoot them because they aren't intimidated by a gun because in their world they see it and hear it everyday.I drew down on countless guys( I worked in a bad area)and the bads ones just run anyway. You will have to shoot the real bad guys. The panhandlers will just talk crap and walk away, but if you pull a weapon on someone even a panhandler that gets cocky, even if its two in the AM somebody is gonna call the cops on you and they will take you to jail for it and you will lose your permit.

The only thing that will cause real bad guys to flinch is a 12 gauge, when we would break em out of the cars and draw down on people after ratcheting the action everybody stops moving.Or when we got the bite dog out of the car they didn't like him either

With that being said when I travel with my family I carry,I went to thru Miami this summer and I had my weapon in the truck. If I am in an area that is known for bad things Miami,New Orleans,Atlanta, I carry for the car jacking road rage stuff.

My thoughts are if somebody is gonna rob you they will pull their gun before you even know they are there and then its to late.

I respect your position as law enforcement, but i have to say that if i have a chance at going home to my family i would not hesitate to shoot the bad guy.

We deal with the drunk vagrants every nite and most of them are harmless bum's, but there is always that one person who is looking for more than a butt or some change.

I have been in situations before, when i lived up in New York City and owned a small trucking company. I would just rather be ready than dead, i dont want a bunch of cops standing over my body saying poor guy didn't have a chance ;)

Also anyone who is not paying attention to his surroundings at all times especially at night, is setting himself up for an assault where as you said even a loaded gun at your side wont help if you dont see it comming.

Theres a town here in GA which requires you have a permited gun (not neccasarily carry it) it has one of the lowest crime rates in the USA. I think Ill make up a sign and hang it on the door when I walk in. I CARRY A GUN, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Hmm, I would be willing to bet that none of you go in worse areas than I do. I also do it on a regular basis. Of course, a guy trying to intimidate is easily intimidated, but you darn well better be prepared to back it up, which I have never had to do.

I always have one of my pistols in the vehicle as does my wife. I also have a State of Florida Non resident concealed weapons permit. My NYS CW permit is only valid in NYS. My florida permit is valid in many states that have recipricle agreement with FL. It allows me to carry in PA and some other adjoining states.

When I am doing night work or am way out in the boonies, I carry it on me. Sig 45 is my favorite, but a bit much to conceal. Usually conceal a walthers PPK 380 or 357 snubnose.

Long live the constitution!

I would take that bet, if i still lived in N.Y. not that N.Y. is such a bad area as a whole. But there are certain areas of the South Bronx and East N.Y. that you dont dare walk thru at night or for that matter the day.

I had a CWP for N.Y. City which was a very hard permit to get and keep unless you could prove you carried alot of cash for your buisness. We delivered to all 5 Borough's of N.Y. and each one had their great sections and their bad.

But no matter what and where i wind up, N.Y. is still the greatest City in the World, Hands Down!!

Kennesaw GA requires each head of house hold own a gun. If you can not afford one they will provide you with one. unless you have a bad background.
