Just curious

Most of you know who my wife is and some have met her at the Roundtable last year. Few of you know she has her own business in addition to what all she does for me and Prokleen and 4 kids. She owns www.candlesbystacie.com

It started with an idea and something fun to do but it has now grown and come to a crossroads, we are toying with the idea of moving to bigger and better and turning it into a real, profitable, legitimate, business.

That being said we are throwing an idea out there and sharing a little something that has worked for us. We give our customer a candle as a gift whenever we do a job (residential). Also we send out and hand out candles to all the property managers, rest. owners and managers as well as the pm's secretarys ect..... They love them and look forward to them. Each time we go buy or whenever we do a job they know what to look for soon ! The ladies in the offices love us for sending them.

So we are looking to expand if there is enough call for it. What I am wanting to know is how many would be intrested in the same if we offered a discounted price by the case ? We wont send a single candle because it is not worth it to me or to you. A case is the minimum (12 candles).

So let me know if this is a good idea for any of you, also we are getting ready to send out christmas candles to our customers as well. A small price to pay to insure them coming back next year.

I think it is a great idea.

Can she make just Vanilla or does it have to be with another scent in the same candle?

I like the logo thing but I think that might be too much work and not be cost effective to do everyone's logo on candles on small runs of a few cases or less.

I think if someone found a printer that could do our logo's on nice quality stickers, we could just put a sticker on the candle.

Those stickers could be good for other things too like for your containers of chems (larger size stickers), put on tool boxes, put on gift boxes like Doughnuts, breakfast stuff to drop off with PM's, Realtors, etc.... Maybe find a company that could reproduce the sticker in several sizes.

Keith did my logo and it is in a format that can be made a lot bigger or smaller without losing quality.

Back to the candles, I like that idea, what would the Vanilla candles be per case and shipping to 78415?

Thanks Russ.

No joke it is setting by my 6' soaking tub.

It makes me feel Pretty.
I too am in touch with my feminine side. I do the bath and candle thing all the time to relax. (with bubbles) LOL... :)

I think it is a great idea. As far as the logo, that was the first thing I thought of. I'm sure I could print my own right off my computer with sticky back type label paper. :) I may even just put it under the candle.

we use a generic type label that has our bow tie logo on it donr on my computer, it basically says thank you for your business then Prokleen Power Wash, I will take some pics of one and post it, I will let her chime in after while and tell you more.

Labels can be done (I think) in lots of 100 but they are sort of costly, I will get with her and work on something but that you for the intrest guys.

I can help with the stickers. I own a sign & graphics company as well.
for 100 stickers approx 3x3" contour cut (die cut) you are looking at about 25.00 . Digital print on a 7 year vinyl with High gloss laminate (same material we use for vehicle graphics and wraps).

I like the idea of the candles as well!

That really is a great idea. Let us know about a price, it would also be something nice to send to some of your best customers of 08'.

Oh, have you guys ever had a "Christmas Cookie" Candle from Yankee Candle? Probably the best smell ever. You think your wife can replicate it? lol.

And yes, I have candles burning in my house mostly during the christmas months, and it always is Christmas Cookie

I am sure she can, she has many customers bring her their "Yankee jars" and ask her to fill them because she has a lot of the same scents and in most cases her's are even stronger because she triple scents her candles.

Thanks to everyone for your interest. I notice alot of questions about labels...in my opinion it would be cost effective for you to provide your own label instead of me trying to get logos and fonts and sayings just right for each customer. My speciality is making candles not so much designing labels. I like what Chris said about if you get your own labels then you can use them for other things throughout the year; which would be beneficial to you. The 8oz jars come with a lid and you can place a 2.5" x 2.5" round label on top and then we just use a 1"x 2 5/8" white mailing label and place on the jar...that way your company info always gets noticed.

I will take a case of candles today to the fed ex/ups center and see how much it weighs to get an idea of shipping cost. The cost of a case of candles (NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING) is usually $84.00, HOWEVER for this deal I will sale a case for $75 plus s/h.....which is not bad for triple scented soy candles (if you don't believe me ask your wife what this type of candle cost or better yet check out Yankee Candle prices of Bath & Body Works candles).
