Post to be certified ......That's a Joke! That's like if you go buy the biggest pw and you call yourself a pressure washer....Its should be about OJT not post, please are they for real?????
We know how to clean a roof, what to clean a Roof with, we have the proper equipment, Insurance, and can sell it if we want too. As far as SEO that's covered too. I don't need a logo from a 3 grade looking website for my PM's and homeowners to go look at. I do just fine without RCIA.
Between Pwi , Grime scene, and state there's enough info out there for a new person to get into Roof cleaning and do a fine job at it.

Ron gets re-certified here on PWI every 6 hours haha. Just check the forum at 8am and he's got his 100 posts for the day!

Hey Y'all,

I just saw this thread and wanted to jump in here and explain. I am the VP over at the RCIA.

1. This was an old thread, Jan 2009.
2. The BOD suspended the certification program back in October.
3. We have launched a committee to look into the possibility of the development of a future certification program.
4. When and if we begin certifying roof cleaning contractors it will be a therough certification based on a written standard with vocational schools and other third party entities administering our test.

Hope this helps. I am sure you will see that when we do possibly begin certification again it will have A LOT more meat and potatoes.

Thanks!

AC

Guys that stuff is out the window.

Now if you don't pay the $100 you don't get into the super secret members only forums. No decoder ring and forget ever learning the secret hands shake.
I'm happy Chris' site is doing good, but some of the RCIA guys take themselves way to seriously. They seem to forget that PWI,TGS and PTState helped bring roof cleaning into the main stream.

Thanks for the clarification Ac, the work being done now is right on target. Raising the standards of the industry is what it's all about. The Rcia is doing a great job.

Thanks Ron,

Id like to see someone else do 5 million a year instead of me. I think raising the bar and the association giving great support we can turn this roof cleaning industry from a 25 million dollar a year economic impact to a 250 million dollar per year economic impact.

Our goals may be lofty but sometimes you have to throw enough crap on the wall just to see what sticks.

Hopefully all the jokes will subside when we crack the code.

"Nothing admirable is ever easily accomplished and success rarely goes uncriticized."

Thanks,

AC
