Hotels in Las Vegas

The Flamingo had rooms for $60.00 all through February.

It looks like they go up to between $90 and $125 on the weekend of the RT.

That's a room with two queens.

So two queens could share that room.

Sounds like NOLA all over again.

Next door, to the Flamingo is Bills Casino with rooms priced about $30.00 less. Bills has an awesome steak for like 5 bucks. (you have to kill it yourself and eat it raw, but still, that's cheap)

That's still less frightening than some "pig in the ground" or "mountain oysters" is being served up in Alabama. :p I heard Russ is making his guys harvest their own oysters this year

There are some motels down the road as cheap as $29.00 per night, but thats offset by the higher price of crack there. (meth for you younger guys, I'm behind on the times)

These are tough times for the casinos. I'd suggest you call and bargain with them. Get a map online and find nearby casinos prices, then call the Flamingo and tell them you'd like to stay there if they will match prices. Sometimes it works.

I will be available to teach local tricks like how to get free drinks all night by sitting at a slot machine and putting in a quarter everytime you see the drink lady coming.

My son can teach you how he and his friends used to walk into a strip bar with about $4.00 each and stay for 8 hours without being beat up by the management (or the girls)

This is going to be fun.

So is there a special rate at the flamingo for the rt guys?

What is going to be the final date to register for the RT Tony? I am going to try to make it happen...

I have been to vegas a number of times and always have a hard time finding hotels of any kind. Everything out there is so small and everything.

This post is useless without pics...:)

Not yet Gene, I'll work on that tomorrow.

Not likely, because the economy is down and traffic to vegas if we made a special rate it would just get beat up based on the entire market.

Book rooms, watch the rates and re-book if deals get better.

That was the advice from the hotel, they are not happy either but they were honest about the problem.

Question for ya' Tony. My wife and I are coming down to Vegas for the race next weekend and I was wondering where the best places to eat on the strip. We will be staying at Harrah's. I know that Toby Keith's Bar and Grill is a great place. But I was just curious about any other that you know of. I know that this is kind of off topic, but I love to eat, and that has almost as much importance to me as figuring out where to stay if I can make it down for the RT.

I'm the wrong person to ask about that. As you can tell from my pictures I rarely eat........

The Peppermill is a good diner on the strip, just plain american food. $

Chicago Joes is pasta near Sahara and the strip, it's just a little old house converted into an awesome restaurant. It only holds about 20 people and I think you have to have reservations. We go there on special occasions. $$

The Omelet house always wins all the awards for breakfast and has awesome zuccinni sticks. $

McCayo Vegas or Lindo Michoagan for Mexican - At LM they make all the tortillas in front of you. $$

There are a lot of good chain Restaurants at Town Center and the best Yogurt shop around is in there called Yogurtland. (It belongs to a friend of mine, I had to give the plug) $

Everytime we've gone to a really expensive restaurant in a casino we've been disappointed.

If you want history, Piero's is a decent restaurant, That's the restaurant in th movie Casino.

That's all I got. Don't laugh at my taste.... I'm a Long John Silvers type of guy.
