Car Lot Washing and Pricing. HELPPP!!!!

The average for a dealership here is under $1.00 per car. Even a year ago when they were still selling cars. The illegals have taken over that market here in the Phoenix area.

Why not have them arrested for being in our country illegally? I refuse to lose any work to illegals. I love our government for the way they control our borders.

Thats not even a reality here any longer, our Sheriff has chased 500,000 to Texas

Hay guys im new to the site, but up here in Canada I won't touch a car for less than $10 each.
Last lot wash my company did was for a Toyota Dealership, we washed 185 units in two days. i has crew of 5 techs with two 1260 Hotsy's. We washed, foamed, scrubbed, water blade/towl dry all units $10 each. if we apply tire shine then the cost is $12 each unit. the job took us approx 12 hours including prep and travel time over the two days. Things sure are different from their to here with cost and charging for services....I dont do alot of the lot washes just because there budget is so little..I should be at $15 a unit then im making the right $$ per hour aginst my costs...

mind you I pay my techs between 12 and 16 per hour each....

Over here the lots only pay from $0.50 to $2.00 per car.

Part of the problem is the guys with the pressure washer in the trunk of the car, illegals and the owners of the business think that is good money but they don't do their numbers so they realize that they are not really making that much after expenses of running a business.

What is strange is that the day porters of the dealerships learn how to wash and detail cars then quit to open their own detail shops and some will start washing lots. Usually the guys that open up detailing shops will last a lot longer and some will do really good but the guys that wash lots usually disappear, you will not see them washing lots or their ads in the papers anymore.

Down here even if everyone wanted higher prices for their work, there is always someone that will do it cheap for extra money, beer money, it is their side job, etc.....

2 bucks a car is great

One company does most of the new car dealerships here. One auto mall location alone has over 6000 cars.

They use a huge box truck with 2 1000 gallon tanks.

I don't know what they charge but they have had the accts for more than ten years.

No way a crew of 3 washers and 3 dryers does 6000 in a day. But tony said they had 6000, not that they did 6000 in a day. We have 3 man crews doing 800 per day and don't dry because of RO water.

$2.00 a car is great. I was only ever able to get that kind of money at the very small car lots.
