Exposed Aggregate Sealing

We use a good product called Super Seal 30 tinted brown. It give a nice brown tint to the a aggregate. If you are doing a white aggregate or regular concrete of patio be sure to use the non- yellowing. If you are using it where it might be slippery you can add tigar grip to it for traction. That's just a powder that you mix before applying.
I used another product just like this that might be more available but I can't think of the brand. I will look when I'm at the shop and post it

"exposed aggregate" as in decorative aggregate? (done on purpose)

Or... as in old concrete with the top layer wearing off and the "rocks" showing?

Decorative expossed aggreagate.

I guess it would depend mostly on what she wanted it to look like when your done.

- The SAME as it is now? just clean and sealed? = a good clear sealer
just make sure you can get it clean and you dont seal in any stains.

- "tinted" a different color? a semi transparrent sealer will be tinted whatever color you pick, but should let the agg. show through.

anything other than that seems like youd hide/loose the exposed agg. IMO

Its hard for me to recomend what kind for you to get because if it were me Id use StarDek for the clear, or Increte if I went with the semi transparrent. Mostly because I live driving distance to both of those manufacturers, and Im familar w/ their products.

Josh, I would think about .40 per sq ft. would be in the ball park for cleaning, labor for applying and cost of product.
I have seen some run specials for .33 - .35 per sqft.

We have the potential to get several car washes who all have concrete, after the cars leave the wash area they are still dripping water so the combination of water dripping and the rubber from the tires and the water based tire shine leaves the concrete looking black. The owner said he had it cleaned in 2008 which i doubt because I live a block from his store, but he might have had one of the guy use a portable unit to try and clean the surface. Problem is he said sure you can come in and clean an area and it it stays clean for a while( he would say for how long) then you can clean the rest of the area its 15,000 sq ft. I want to put him on a quartely cleaning schedule but the other thought it to apply something to help seal the concrete and then it would be slipperly and with all the walking thats being done it would probally wear off and have a bigger mess. Anyone doing commerical car washes where they have concrete and how often do you clean them and is it even practical to try and put a sealer on the concrete or just tell him his concrete will last longer if we keep it clean it on a regular basis.
