Well, I just got a call. The tug will not be able to make it tomorrow. This means we will have to do it manually.
We have 2 18k hydraulic jacks in the back of the trailer. This will be extended to lift the wheels off the ground. We will make the attempt to .... move the trailer into position to enter the garage.
The garage entrance is a tight fit. Only 9 to 10 ft wide And is on a one way ally. Two high rise buildings share this ally. Not sure if we can make it work.
Cannot fit the dually's in. The both of the 4x4 Dodge Cummings ext Cab Dually ( 1999 and the 2008) do not make a tight enough turn to enter the garage. This is the tightest garage we have ever worked in. My 1998 2500 dodge Cummings 4x4 long bed just makes the turn by an inch. It took us 5 minutes of backing up and pulling forward to get her inside.
We are figuring 2 hours to get the equipment inside the garage. If for some reason we cannot get it inside, I have ordered 800 ft of R2, 1/2 inch hose so that the unit can be outside the garage while we clean inside. I already have 400 ft. so that will be 1200 ft of 1/2 inch hose. Never had the pumps push 1200 ft. Not sure what will happen IF we had to run the hose so long. we are figuring a lost of pressure of 8 to 1,500 psi. SINCE we are using 1/2 and NOT 3/8, it has been in our experience that we only lost 75 to 100 psi per 200 ft of hose. However, we must consider the back pressure of the extra 1,000 to 1,200 ft. of hose. That’s why we are calculating a curve on pressure loss.
If we can work this out, there will be no tight area that we cannot do.
Trailer Bed ONLY is 14.5 ft long and 96 inches wide instead of the 102 inches we was planning in the first design.
96 inches wide is an odd ball of a size and ended up costing us more to build. Like I said in previous posts, it is easy to build a trailer and make it big to just put everything just everywhere without making it compact. We did everything to make this trailer as compact as possible while maintaining the width, length and height issue of 6 ft 3 inches tall. But even now, it still may be too big. So we will be relying on the 2 hydraulic 18k jacks with Swivel wheel installed on them to turn the trailer from the 9 o' clock position to the 12 o'clock so that we may enter the garage. Problem is the street is not very wide and there is a curb of which my jacks cannot jump over.
Tomorrow is the day. But this is why we get paid.
