Fish Kill in North Carolina by pressure washer.

They must have been using alot of that chemical for it to kill the fish that quick. I work in the wastewater field and we discharge over 4 million gallons of treated wastewater into a creek daily. Although we keep the PH as well as dissolved oxygen in check, it would take some strong chemical to drop the PH to the level to kill the fish that quick. I think lack of rain, the water level being down, maybe a population prob with the fish, the pressure washing company may have been at the right place at the wrong time and may have set the ticking time bomb off.
We do have to be careful with our cleaning and think about the environment everyday when we are out there. We only have one earth, when we are finished with it we have no other place to live. Ive been to Mars, there was no concrete to clean there so I came back.

Always gotta be careful what we do; you never know sometimes what will upset Mother Nature. It's not always the stuff with scary placards and labels on it. Back when I first got into teaching HazMat Awareness for First Responders, I was surprised to learn that a milk spill caused the worst fish kill in one state's history.

Hey, Richard, Mars has water, right? So if they ever get concrete in up there, you'll be all set to do some cleaning? :D

No concrete the beer was awull and the chicks were all green. I didnt even look for water, wasnt there long enough!

I guess no one would ever admit this, I owuldnt..

Working on a lake today, using full diversion to a sanitary. ( we are filtering for JIM today)

I will post a few photos, Any one in Phx wants to stop it tempe town lake building. High rise parking structure, Stairwell an elevator entrances.

That's a repost by the Uamcc on the issue months later. This was sent to pwi months before.

Lani its old news that really doesnt matter, mute issue. Whats done is done.

The main thing is contractors had a voice.

The credits don't matter.

Attached is a copy of a news story about the fish kill I referred to when we talked. I blacked out the names of the company and their representative.
