Parking Garage Cleaning videos California Pressure washing equipment

I use the larger filter housings. They are probably still not large enough. The hot and mighty filter housings look really similar to those used on some swimming pools.
I have a three part separation tank before I even have anything getting into the water boy. I will have to say, I am not terribly impressed with the water boy, nor the engineering expertise of the designer. (I am sorry, when someone tells me I need a 5000 watt generator to run a 9 amp pump, red flags start flying.) I think that if the water boy was a little smaller, with the coalescing plates, and then the oliphilic socks, and maybe one or two separation tanks, then going to a large format filter, that it would work better. I did not have that option, so I modify it to meet my needs. I also think that they need to put a jet pump, instead of sump pump for the pump out. That way it could get past some of the back pressure of the filter media.
I have not guaged how much flow my current system handles, though, I am pumping 11 GPM with a solid vacuum recovery unit, so I know it is at least 10 gpm.

Great info Scott, so if you had to do it over again you would build your filter yourself?

Did you custom build the 3 part separator?

What mods did you do to the water boy internally?

How efficient is the settlement tank on the steel eagle compared to the drop out tanks?

How do you like the built in cyclone separator on the steel eagle?

what would you change on the vac end of the process?

So you prefer the pump similar to what Robert and Larry uses on the Recycle 16 for pumping out of the H20 Boy? I prefer those pumps myself.

The final stage polishing filters, you like the bigger ones that Tom Durbin uses. Me too, but how big would you want to go?

What sequence of micron polishing do you recommend?

In your experience would you choose bag over cartridge?

Thanks Scott, appreciate your time

Jim since you can read this ....................... we love ya but we dont miss ya! My PM box has never been so empty

We need to beat up John T for encouraging this. (Just kidding John T)

I looked at the link.

I miss Jim Gamble's point of view on garage cleaning. I also thing he would have revealed his filtration system to members; he started to, but I saw how that went.

I would like to thank Jim G for sharing your garage cleaning experiences, glad we could brain storm on ideas for you new 2010 redesign.

Guys/Gals, I am attempting to get answers into the experiences members have with their filtering equipment, thats all.

Scott if you choose you can email me.

Nigel I like you and respect what you have to offer the board but you have to try and understand from our perspective as well that Jim was always into it with someone and his style of posting left much to be desired.

In my oponion and its only my oponion but stealing something from someone does not get you places in life and Jim did just that to a friend of mine that trusted him, so he is not welcome here any longer.

They say time heals wounds, I doubt we have enough time. My mom was good enough to give me a good BS detector at birth, I saw thru him before anyone else, Ron thought I was being hard on him until he turned on Ron (now Ron Knows) Then Scott thought I was being hard on him until he turned on Scott (Now Scott knows). The list goes on and on.

Jim continues to want to be held higher than anyone, I have never in 43 years on this earth seen someone with the need to be accepted and thought well of as much as him.

I mean come on, he told people I live in a doublewide? Also admittedly looked up my home and tax records on the net to see what kind of home I lived in? Thats the silliest thing to date. Why would that matter to him at all? Why would that matter to anyone at all? All he had to do was phone up Ashley Phillips, Trey (Sentinel) Richard Fleming, Ron Musgraves or Bob from Pressure Tek, they have all been here on more than one occasion.

Nevermind, really its not important, he wont be back .......... RIP Jimbo!

I am just floored that Jim would spread lies about you Russ especially on the internet. I'm not in the law business but I do know there is a such thing called slander. He could be taken to court for this.

Why would anyone on here waste their time looking up tax records and seeing what kind of house someone live in on here? It sounds to me like Jim needs to get a life. He has stepped on way too many toes on these boards and eventually it will hurt him where it counts in his pocket book.

It makes me wonder what his accounts would have to say if they were to come on these boards and read everything he has posted about everyone and everything. I bet he wouldn't be the parking garage cleaning king he claims to be for very much longer.

One thing I've always noticed about Jim on these boards though is he always want to be put up on a pedistool. I believe we are all equal here and we are all here to learn and have fun. It's not a competition (at least I've never looked at it that way) on these boards to see who makes the most money or who has the most equipment.

Thanks you Russ S.

I dont know exactly what went done, I took from Jim G's post the technical stuff, and I miss that.

Sorry Nigel. I don't review every post. I either did not see that one, or, saw it, was going to get back to it, and forgot about it.

If I was going to get another recovery system, and did not have anything on hand, I would build it myself. I think that with the knowledge that I have, I could have built something far more efficient, for far less money than what is offered with the water boy, or any other system. The biggest thing for me would be getting a tank that was large enough to contain the solids that are gathered in a proper garage cleaning. I am in the process of cleaning a garage that we do once a year, that I am currently at a little over 1000 gallons of sludge, from rubber and oils, and am not done yet. We are doing it over multiple nights, because we are not able to completely close down a garage to get it cleaned. So, we gather about 200 gallons of sludge, take it for disposal, and do it all over again the next night. I am licensed by the state to do this, in case anyone is wondering.

No problem, thanks for the response Scott. I know you are busy.

Thats a lot of sludge. In your estimation if it was dried how many gallons would 1000gallons of wet sludge turn out to be?

Could you answer the questions below, its some specifics I am wanting/needing your experience on, to wrap my mined around.

It would probably dry to about 50% so, 500 gallons.
Sure ask questions all you want. I will try and answer. I am fully booked until the end of April, but will make an effort to answer the questions, though.

That is a lot of sludge, how big is that garage? 500k sq.ft?
1 million sq.ft?
