Low PSI

I have a 11hp Honda engine 3000psi 4.0gpm unit

I bought it used. The engine runs like a champ. The prev owner just rebuilt the pump last year. When I bought it, the psi guage was broken. When I replaced the guage, the psi per the guage would only reach 2000psi.

I am new at this-any advice on what I can do to get the unit to reach 3000psi?

Every once in awhile-the unit will pulsate-I shut it down and restart and it runs great.

Thanks

Tim. Where does the gauge spike at? Make sure you have a new nozzle on your gun. If the gauge below the 3200-3400 psi range chances are someone has turned down the unloader, but check the nozzle first. I have fixed several other peoples machine by just installing a new nozzle.

This is in the wrong section but I will help if I can.

Usually something is stuck in the valves. On the Big brass head of the pump you will find 6 big caps they are probably 28mm. Use a socket to remove them! never use a cresent wrench you will dammage them. Remove the caps and pull the valves out and check for stuff stuck in them. Also check all of the o-rings for tears. Make sure they are free of junk and put it all back together. If that doesn't fix it check all of the hose clamps . Then check all filters on the inlet side of the pump.
