Dumpster Cleaning?

Anyone got any good ideas that are good for Chinese grease. Caustic really hot did very little (even taken to the extreme with the application process) and let dwell for about 10 minutes per application with a total of 4 applications.

Here are a few photos of it. I did not have a turbo "whisper bisquit" with me at the time so i will revisit this another day. The grease is about 1/8 to 1/4 thick around the basin and the only way i could get it to come off was to chisle it off using a 15* pattern and try to cut under it.

You might have to get some floor scrapers to get the thick stuff off and then the rest might come off with the high heat and chems.

Sometimes the chems won't soak through very thick situations like that, sometimes you get lucky. Using a coarse bristle brush would help but scraping the top layer off takes longer, is more labor intensive but is what it might take to get that job done.

Maybe time for some Potassium into the mix.

I had a similar problem at a burger place dumpster pad... I had to use a bit of 'elbow grease' with one of those heavy long handle scrapers... Was a bit laborious as I had to stop and start a lot. Basically HOT water on a section then manual scraping... Repeat process, along with caustic and turbo nozzle.

I'll see if I can dig out some photos later.

hope this helps

Like we tell all the hood newbies that think there is a magic bullet for chinaman....................SCRAPE!

Chainaman laughs at pressure washers.

They dont laugh so hard with a good scraper and elbow grease.

Then they start crying after I let loose the caustic bomb.

Thats Tough! If I get a 'crust' like that I apply the soap then broom it around, not saying scrub just keep it on the grease, then keep applying fresh soap, not much dwell, and dont spray until the soap has dissolved it. There's so much 'material' sometimes that the amount of soap has reacted with all the grease it can and gone down as far as it can, now some fresh soap can get a little deeper. Don't spray till you see the whites of their floor! I have a great sauce but I'm pretty sure if you keep stirring that soup with some fresh spritzes of your mix it will eat through it if its 'hot' enough, and I bet about 10 minutes total.

Chinese dumpster pad grease, does it get any more succulent than that?

I got my floor scraper from Lowes, a lot cheaper for the scraper and replacement blades than Home Depot.

Sometimes you have to scrape the crap off to get to the concrete. Sometimes the job is a pita but once clean then it is not that bad each time after that.

We learned at the Vegas round table that propane torches don't like to stay lit upside down. Maybe MAPP gas would work better.
I baught one from lowes specifically for that. Its kind of like a U shape.
Cant find it on their website. Ill get a pic of it. It works great but you need a person just ahead of you doing one small spot at a time.

On something like this on your photos above,

We in California, have to reclaim all of the water, then filter and send it , by special discharge permit, to the sanitation district for procession ( Sewer Access ). So check with the Sanitation District for the proper discharge procedures in your state. With that said.....

I agree with Chris. High heat is your friend here. Try to increase you heat output by recirculating you water from your tank via you boiler. This will increase the water temp. Do this to 120 -130 degrees. ( Pressure pumps are usually able to handle 140 degrees, HOWEVER, check with the manufacture of the pump you are using for the correct temps)

Once you are at the 120 to 130 degrees mark, take your hose and reattach it to the wand. Turn on you boiler to full. Some boilers temperature settings say 300 degrees (We know that will never happen with a standard pressure washer). However.... being that you have 130 degrees now of inlet water in your tank, you might be able to get 220 to 250 degrees for a little while. ( As much as your water tank can hold) DO NOT ADD COLD WATER TO THE MIX !!! This will cool down you water thus your temp at the wand will decrease as well.

That hotter you can get your 5 to 6 GPM pressurized flow, the better the results.
