I bought myself a Tuff super skid 3000. I love the machine but to change the oil and not get it all over the place. What do i have to do take off the engine? Hope someone can give me a way to change the oil.1st oil change was not a pretty sight

Beware, Honda does NOT offer an extension to make it easier to drain your oil. Also, if such a device has been installed by the manufacturer like that it is highly probable that Honda will void the warranty because it is not one of their parts.

The reasoning behind it is that they have tested their crankcase oil plug to withstand the total environment their engines work in. Fact is Honda requires manufacturers of any product with their engines to be tested and approved by them for the application. Any extension to the drain opening, including the extension hose/pipe and valve are not Honda parts.

If properly designed for after sale service there should be an opening in the base that will allow you to place a container to collect the oil. With luck the spread will be minimized and clean up reduced. You can get high temperature hose and a needle valve from an automotive supply store to allow you to put your own extension on; BUT it may void Honda's warranty.

Hope this helps? Cheers.

Don't have a Honda engine, it's a briggs & stratton engine. I would also think there would be a hole by the drain plug so oil can flow through it, but under the plug sits the fuel tank.

Your local Briggs dealer can order you a drain valve that has a place to attach a 3/8" hose to drain the oil. That was the first thing I did on all of my Vanguard engines. Just twist the screw knob. Should cost around $12.00 or so.

Here is a picture (hopefully) of the spin on adapter from Kohler.

No spilled oil, spin on, spin off.

Cost about $30.

I guess I goofed there, I could a sworn I seen a Honda engine
on your Tuff?

On the Kohler engines and Briggs both we have made a hydraulic hose
about 30" long witha 3/8" mpt rigid fitting on the engine side, and a 3/8"
FPT fiting on the drain side, we then put a 3/8: mpt plug in the fpt fitting.

When it is time to change oil, warm up the engine then unscrew the plug
and drain oil, re tape the plug when re-installing. In 20 years I have not
seen one of these leak.
:)

I still would use the hose. A little extension hose out right turn and your there for a simple mess free oil change.

If and when you have a problem with that Honda??? Take the extension off before it’s serviced.

Wait,, when don’t they try to get out of any warrantee issue???? Don’t worry they will find something else to dispute the warrantee

Picture of no mess oil change hose.

Simply remove cover, screw on the green drain hose and it pushes open a valve which allows oil to drain out into whatever you want it in.

Also have this under my truck, never get a drop of oil on my hands.

Sorry for the blurryness, not good at making pics small enough to post.
