Is there anyone driving down from Raleigh MB. There are a few of us looking to carpool down if others are going to drive down, we can possible all coordinate it and drive down together and split up fuel costs, cars, etc.....

Ugh - sorry...we'll already be down there. Check with William Page (Off Duty Fireman) - he's in Raleigh.

Looking at flying into Raleigh, looking to see if anyone wants to car-pool with me and Chris T. down to MB on Thursday and then back on Monday morning, just let me know.

Thanks.

For the record - you guys can also check flights into Greensboro. It's about the same distance to MB and some airlines are less to there. Charlotte is another option in NC.

Read somewhere that Carlos is flying into Florence SC. Florence is only about 60-70 miles from Myrtle.

And finally - Nichole from SunBrite evidently can make it from Atlanta to MB in record time (4'ish hours which is about the same time as from Raleigh).

Wilmington may be only US Air......but there are some GREAT fares on there!

The reason for flying into Raleigh is Southwest has their internet special prices again, $109.00 for either way if you get them fast but they do not fly into South Carolina unfortunately.

Chris and I talked about flying into Raleigh and renting a car and driving down.

The cheapest flight before taxes and fees for me was about $508.00 for the round trip. Flying Southwest and splitting a car rental and fuel will be a lot less expensive, just have to drive 4 hours each way, not too bad though.

There might be another "mystery speaker/attendee" that might fly into Raleigh and drive with us down to MB, that person said that they have to talk to that person's significant other person and if they get permission then they might fly in. hahahahahahaha

I got my ticket for Southwest into Raleigh so I will be at the beach!!!!!!

I've made it from Raliegh to MB in 2 and half!!! Just ask Dave Vicars!!

Chris, I will be coming back from Atlanta the day you are flying in. I won't be heading to MB until Friday morning. Sorry pal.

No problem William, thanks anyway.

The only airlines here are American, Continental and Southwest.

Continental and American had the same fares no matter which site we checked: Priceline.com, Cheapotickets.com, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc....... $580.00 and up without the fees and taxes.

When I checked Southwest it was $109 there to just about any city (nothing in South Carolina) and $129 return. We decided to save some money and fly into Raleigh and rent a car and drive down to the beach. We still save a lot of money doing the car rental and splitting it and the fuel.

So, that is why we are doing the Southwest deal. If there were other airlines here I could do something else. I did not want to fly to one airport and jump onto another airline, it saved about $150.00 over the regular American or Continental price but then you have to spend all day traveling and if you are late getting the bags and checking into the other airline or something else happens, you get screwed and probably miss your flight and have to try again the next day. Not too many flights there from around here.

Not worth the chance and possibly missing a flight.

It kind of sucks when you only have a choice of 3 airlines to deal with in your city. O Well.
