That is a good post. Not everyone out there has heard of organizations in other industries, especially industries that have been around a lot longer and have many, many, many times the members.
When I joined the PWNA back in 2004 I mentioned that I was a member to customers and they had that blank look like that was supposed to mean something and then said, "What is that?" and I explained to them and usually they cut me off in my explanation telling me that they did not want to hear about that, just a price to clean their place.
In the last few months I have asked customers and friends if they have heard about some organizations like the AMA, ADA, AFL CIO, etc.... and most of them have never heard of them at all so it kind of makes me think that if a lot of people out there have not heard of these much, much larger organizations which have hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of members which advertise in magazines, on tv, etc.... and have been around for a long time then what is it going to take to get widely known in a much smaller industry when people in general don't pay attention to organizations unless they are in organizations themselves or in positions to check credibility?
If people out there don't know about the AMA and that is for Doctors, Physicians, OBGYN's, etc.... what do you think they will say when you ask them if they have heard about your organization (any org for pressure washing here, no names in particular)?
Not trying to start a bashing thread or argument here.
Just something to think about.
