Tracking Your Employees

This might not be much of use for the pressure washing industry, but it is extremely important for the sweeping business. The function is the same as those GPS monitoring companies for the fleet biz, but it is not $2500 installation fee per truck and it does not cost a dime as a monthly service. I have it on all the trucks we own. I haven't tried it yet on employees themselves, but I believe that it will do a great job, tracking down every step of my porter guys. They only need to carry it in their pockets at all times during working hours. I am able to track the movement as often as every 2 seconds and as accurate as couple feet. It also tracks max speed, average speed, distance, the report can be linked with other report or it can be separated by each 2 seconds.

If any of you want to know when your employee takes a nap or is driving your brand new truck with 110m/h, or even missing spots with the surface cleaner, then you need one of these :).

What is it called and were can I find information?

I think they missed a spot...
That is a nice feature. I want to be able to track my employees live and know where they are. It makes it nice when they go home for a nap, repeatedly, so that I can track them down. And yes, I have had it happen where a part of an employees normal routine was a 4 hour nap.

My Buddy has this on all his Tow Trucks, I think it's awesome.

It is actually not live, but I dont really need it to be live. At the end of the shift, day, week, month or any time, I can pool out the "black box" and read what has happened. The live future requires back signal. I think nextel have that but it is basically a phone service, so you need to pay at least 40-50 bux a month.

It is a simple GPS logger, but not all GPS loggers have all the nice feautures.
The difference is that it can record the data on a memory card up to 2gb which allows a lot of storage up to 25 million waypoints. What I also like in it is that it turns on when truck is on (has power from the cig lighter outlet). It also has a spy mode. On spy mode it turns on for a moment every 1 to 100min, captures the data and goes back to sleep. That allows over a month of battery live if power is not supplied. The thirt big feauture is the SCV files that it generates. The included software can convert them into KMZ files (google earth) which in my opinion is the best map made ever.
It has a lot more feautures which i have not mentioned, because I dont really use them for the purpose I need it.
I have tried a lot of GPS devices and data loggers, but this by far is the best one.

This is a very cool and it means that while I'm tracking myself, I can see what I missed and how long I slept in the parking lot LOL

I will need this system sooner or later as I grow to track their working patterns. We had one sweeping company here in town that we called -- Sleeps as their drivers are always sleeping somewhere in a dark spot, we see them all the time here.

Hhaha :)) that is funny. I keep a close eye on our competitors and many of them don't sleep. Their trucks just dont work. They show up to the plaza park the truck in the middle and then do a porter service all night long.

Same here, a lot of them show up all right LOL they drive in one end of the center and drive right out the other side, we see it from the company I was talking about all the time. But thats OK I have got 70% of my centers from their GREAT WORK :woot:
