Online Shopping?

I would like to give my advice here to those who are looking for the best deal on the net or the craigslist's fans of used equipment.
It came to my attention from a previous post about several deals on "Crack-list" that lead to bogus website shopping carts with non-branded PW skids for unbelievable low prices.
As we all know online prices are way cheaper than retail. On the other hand, online shopping is the newest, most creative and advanced way of fraud activity.
So when you shop online make sure to follow the basic rules as:

Contact the seller, prior putting your identity and financial info on internet. If no-live support or sales team is behind the nice looking shopping cart/site then it is 99% a fraud.

Always look for reputable brand with authorized dealers and sales reps statewide.

Check if the warranty is covered at your local dealer. You can not ship back a 500 pound unit over 5 states for something little that you are not sure if it's a manufacture defect or just an ignorance of your own (my experience :)..

Check the reputation of the online seller on boards like this.

Be extra careful with free add websites like CraigsList.

Check how real is the shopping website by simply running a who.is check.

For example the last two websites mentioned on a previous post:

They both come from a bogus add on Craigslist and lead to nice looking shopping carts with lots of tools and machines:

Thanks for the info.

There will always be scams, ripoffs and bad people out there, just more of it all around the holidays.
