Hello all, this is Jesse Garcia Jr. from Double J Pressure Washing here in Spring, Texas. i am looking for a hot water unit. Being fairly new to the hot water game, i'm not exactly sure what i should be looking for. i've looked at a couple of places here in Houston and contacted a few folks online, but i'm still not too sure what I should buy. I don't what is too much money or what is not worth the price. I recently got laid off from my full time job after 9 years, and I decided to focus as much as i can on pressure washing. I found a pressure washer on ebay, it's Honda, 4000 PSI 5.2 GPM hot water skid. It's going for 5 grand, but I'm a little uncertain with the warranty. I'm just not sure where to look, or if i buy used, how would I know if the equipment is worth it or not. Sorry to babble on, I just need some advice.

Thanks everyone,

I would recommend Delco cleaning systems in Fort Worth TX. I don't own a Delco but have heard good things about them (great service after the sale) and meet Larry at a round table. Search Delco and I think you will find a lot of information, like their phone # Remember "you get what you pay for" 5K sound high for a used skid, just my opinion.

well, the skid on ebay is brand new...The warranty doesn't seem all that great though. It's only like a year or so.

Honestly for your first machine pay more and get it from a local dealer for the support you might need to keep it running if you are unsure of what you need. Once you are comfortable get what you ight need or want when you see what works for you.

I apologize, and thanks Ron.

Jesse, since you've already a pressure washer you have an idea of how a pressure washer works, Hot Water skids are just cold water washers with coils and burners.

If you are mechanically inclined and know anything about equipment, there is no reason to buy new. There is plenty of good, lightly used equipment out there at half or even 2/3's the price of new.

For $5000.00 you should be able to find a Hot Water unit, trailer, tanks and all!!!

Landa, Alkota, Mi-T-M, Delco, I'm partial to Alkota and Landa's myself.

Great Contractor Advice, Jesse your good.

I'm with Guy. If you're careful a lightly used unit is the way to go. If you're patient some rig that somebody's father in law bought will pop up.

John's machine is not the machine for someone new to the game. It is well used, and probably worn out, if John is selling it. Just my opinion.

LOL Scott .... You Know me man.. Anyway the main reason for selling the machine is because I was going to have to buy a generato , I got tired of pluging a cord up everywhere I went .. In all honesty though the motor , and the burner are like new , the coil is in good shape.. I took really good care of it .. It has all new hoses and even has a new flow switch and thermostat on it.. oh yea and a new battery.. The 1500 I am asking for it ( you could barely buy a good cold water machine for that.. I would have put some money in it but I got such a good deal on the pressure pro that I couldn't pass it up ... If I dont sell the Whitco I am going to put it back on my old ford flatbed truck and fix it up and send a guy out to do some cleaning ... I started the nachine up this morning and it still runs fine ..but scott you are right it is 7 years old ...

Did you find any?
I just bought me a trailer and a tank. I'm only doing residential right now, I just look a little more professional. I have a 3500/4GPM machine and I will be upgrading this Spring. I'm also bought a flowjet pump to hook up to the tank to send to my pressure washer. It is a 4.9 gallon per minute pump, the gentlemen I bought it from said it was okay to use with my pressure washer. everything I have I bought with a warranty. I also am sending out my money order today for my insurance. I have a 335 gallon tank, but i feel it's too big and I want to try to trade it in for something smaller and I want to get a smaller chemical tank for when I do roofs. I saw a roof set up kit at pressuretek. I know I don't have the best equipment but I am trying to get on board. Any advice you have on equipment or anything for that matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
