#1 in google & SEO

I've been reading many threads here about number one pages in google and etc..

Our site is number one with key words "power sweeping florida" which is very hard to be with these particular 3 words.

The website has horrible code (SEO wise) and I never had the time to actually work on the SEO. So I have no idea how google picked us, but we are there:).. We get calls once in awhile from property management companies and we never get business from them :)).. They are 99% price fishing and waste of time.

The conclusion: the "number one in google" thing for commercial work does not work quite well as it does for residential. Of cource this is for power sweeping, pressure washing might be different.

About Alexa: It is quite easy to manipulate - web-page ranking system. I have experimented in the past with different projects (websites) and I have raised the position there from 8 000 000+ to less than 1 000 000 position in the world in a couple of weeks. Alexa rank does not mean SEO success at all.

Google changes their algorithms like some people change underwear, every few weeks, and all your hard work to get to the top of those results can be gone in a second. That's why I figured out MUCH better ways for my customers to find me that are consistent, predictable and effective.

SEO shouldn't be ignored, but that's all I see people talking about on here and if only they knew what I know now after much testing and manipulating...

Yes, and a new Google "experiment" is fixin to be unleashed on us all, soon :crying:
If ya wanna see outright WAR on the Internet, look at the Locksmiths.
These guys have no shame, at all.

LOCKSMITHS? Thats funny
I know, but they are SEO viscious Russ.
These guys make us look like schoolchildren.
I know several SEO specialists, and they TRY to avoid LockSmiths.
If you go in the Google Snitch Forums, where ya go to complain about SEO dirty tricks competitors do to you, they are dominated by complaints of one Locksmith snitching out another.
These guys make listing like Pro Kleen with your company name,, address, and info, but THEIR phone number!
Oh yeah, they will take your pictures Russ, right click to get the file name, and create a listing using YOUR pics as their "company name"
They know they will get busted by google, eventually, but will "claim" they had "no knowledge" of it.
Eventually, Google will pull the listing, but wait, there's more!
Now, Google will associate YOUR pictures with THEIR URL, forever!
This is a flaw in Google, and they exploit it.
A "Fearless" Local Competitor, who shall remain nameless, just did this to me!
He just made up a totally fictious "Company Name" not even related to who he really IS.
He is back up there in the search results, and Google is giving HIM credit for all my work!

I will not say what other dirty tricks there are Russ, because I don't want to possibly "educate" YOUR Local Competitors, or anyone elses.

But trust me, when it comes to SEO dirty tricks, some Locksmiths are the scum of the scum.

Welcome to the nasty world or pressure washing.

People have been doing this stuff to me for around 8 years. I wont mention names because it will just start a trouble.

My brother is an A/C Contractor www.jamiesairconditioning.com
He takes me to outings sponsored by supply houses and A/C manufacturers with several A/C guys present.
THEY do not have anything NEAR what we do in the cleaning trades.
WHY ?
It is simple, supply and demand!
To have your own A/C business, you must pass a contractor exam that is so hard, it keeps ppeople OUT of the A/C contractor trade.
Thus, demand exceeds supply, in the A/C Business.

Pressure washing is SO cheap, and easy to get into, supply exceeds demand, especially in a bad economy.
Just as a dying animal will sometimes lash out at everything near it as it dies, so some of the failing, desperate pressure washers lash out with dirty tricks on their competitors.
Face it, there are WAY too many of us, especially for this economy.
