Also do us a favor and go to the "User cp" and look on the left for "signature" and fillit out so we know who you are.

He is RIGHT in my hometown Russ, but I don't know who he is.
I received a call on my caller ID once that said ReNU Roof Cleaning.
Actually, I call EVERY number back on my caller ID, since many shoppers do not leave a voicemail.
I called his number w/o looking at the name first, and there was no answer, but the message said "Thank You for calling ReNU Roof Cleaning"
I even left a message saying it was Chris from Apple Roof Cleaning, thinking it was somone who needed my help, or one of my ex employees who went his own way, and might have changed his company name.
I never got a call back :scratchhead:
Curious about this phone call, and no return on the nice message I left, I ran ReNu Roof Cleaning on Google, and saw he was a new, local competitor.
Like REAL local too, 2 miles away!

Maybe it was Frank,(spws) he is from Valrico.

You are correct, we are in your hometown. I did in fact call you, but was in the middle of some things at the time of your return call and had since forgotten to call you back. I was hoping to meet with you and discuss roof cleaning, seeing as how you have the nation wide roof cleaning market dominated on the internet and have a large hold on the tampa market I thought you would be a wonderful ally. If you have time in the near future I would like to meet you and introduce myself, possibly for lunch on me?
<O:p</O:pI really enjoy all your post and all the helpful information you and Russ provide!
<O:p</O:pThanks

No, it was not Frank, I know him, he is a nice guy, as I am sure Jason is too!
No reason competitors can't be friendly ?
Kory, Chappy, Larry, Nick, and many of us all chase the same piece of cheese at times, ya win a few, you lose a few :wink2:
It is fun to sit down over a beer, and talk about the "shopper from hell" and other war stories.

Call me anytime Bro, I don't "bite", just make it after 10 am, since lately it is too COLD to clean roofs until late afternoon.
It is gonna pour tomorrow
Hate it Jason, we are gonna have a cash flow experience shortly, due to not being able to work a lot lately, due to bad weather.
We have a pretty good sized commercial job going on down in Bloomingdale, lots of elderly people, watching for any SPECK of roof cleaning chemical the wind should blow their way
The roofs are truly filthy, no gutters, steep and slippery, with hedges all around.
WE must move slowly.
Just did another big job up in Tampa, money has not come in yet.
Lots of money going OUT, little residential coming in due to weather = Cash Flow Crisis
It is a real PITA constantly re scheduling sold customers due to weather!
They tend to go shopping, and must then be re sold, etc, etc, etc.
Call me sometime ?
Chris

Good luck getting 10-12 cents for apartments in Fl. From my experience apartment managers are the biggest price shoppers in the world and really don't care about quality. I stopped bidding apartments seven years ago after a manager told me the winning bid was 5 cents a S.F. for three story buildings, no gutters and lots of vegetation.

These guys are right Jason. Whenever you are bidding on a commercial type Roof Cleaning you might as well throw your residential #'s right out the door. I just put together a bid last night for a community that has over 160,000 sq ft of Tile Roof that they want Cleaned. I almost fell off my own chair when I put my #'s together just for the Tile Roofs. The thing is, they want the Buildings Washed and all the Concrete Driveways Washed as well. I priced it out as a residential just for the heck of it, for myself and was almost cried when I saw what I was losing. These types of Cleanings are great though. They can be a lot of fun to do, your not doing a ton of driving around, they look great for your portfolio and as a referral and it is nice to get one big fat check at the end of it all. You just have to be realistic on what YOUR market will bear when pricing them. Put your #'s together Carefully. You have to make sure your not gonna lose $$ doing them. Good Luck! :thumbup2:

yeah I figured it would be a great bit lower considering the volume of competition down there (wheather good or bad).

There is relativly no competition up here to speak of maybe 5 or 6 in the whole state that you can count as qualified to do something like that so our pricing is still higher

The cheese is getting smaller, and the competition keeps growing down hear in a shrinking market.

I just got a call from Northern Tool up in Tarpon Springs letting me know that they have a repair shop in the back of their building. He said that their corp. office came down on them and has got them making calls to drum up more business. Things are not getting any better around here let me tell ya. My wife and I have been passing out flyer's in neighborhoods that I've done work in and visiting( In Person ) with previous customers to drum up more business. I'm not looking for any shoulders to cry on here but if things don't turn around REAL soon I'm gonna have to fold. Anyone looking to make a contribution to the "Larry is almost out of biz" fund may do so by calling 727-543-3276. Hahahaha! Just kidding! :crying:
