Steep roofs

I looked at a place today that has a steep roof, to step to safely walk on. One story building, the fan is hinged.
I have ladder hooks that hook over the peak of the roof and hold a ladder flat on the roof, providing a place for foothold at least, but it is awkward to use, this is an easy job otherwise.

Looking for a better way. How do you guys handle this situation? Please no rusty jokes

If it were me I would request that the store build a cleaning platform so that the unit can be cleaned. I would service the lower section until this safety issue is addressed. I would note on the exit report that you were unable to service because of this issue. However if the volume and food type were aggressive, I would pass the whole job until the requirement is addressed.

You should not risk your well being for $300.

With the ladder attached to the roof, and a saftey line, I don't consider it dangerous, it's just a huge pain to deal with. Perhaps reason enough itself to leave it alone
