Cleaning IPE

Some contractors changed caulking on some windows and left some tea looking residue on a natural Ipe deck. I have cleaned, prepped and stained plenty of treated pine and cedar decks and fences. It's my first Ipe deck. I would like to know my options before I accept the job. What I need to know is what different cleaning methods work and what stain/sealers work well.

bump............anybody, anybody out there? The update is the ho does not want stain but wants the graying cleaned away. What is the best way to clean ipe? Would softer deck wood methods work?

Softer deck methods work exactly the same way with hard woods.
