Anyone interested in a free worker for a day or two?

Hello all,

I'm looking to find someone willing to allow me to tag along on a job or two or more. I am starting my own company very soon, but I am unable to locate someone offering a training class on how to use the machinery correctly. Actual "in the field" work is what I would really like to experience.

I am looking to learn residental washing (soft washing) and driveways to start. I have been watching video's, reading this forum religiously, and have gone to two round tables so far.

I can fly anywhere for free, just would need to rent a car and get a hotel is all. I apologize if I sound greedy, I don't intend that in anyway. I am just a turd of a person that feels I should know what I am doing in some shape, way, or form before going out to a job. I would like to know the machine, tools, and chemical mixtures more.

If anyone is willing to allow me to tag along, I would appreciate it immensely.

If you have any questions, advice, tips, or suggestions please feel free to lay it on me.

Thank you for your time,
Alan

Starting a new PW company in Florida ? Might want to consider your market. Have you done a business plan ? I would suggest you network with the professional PW contractors in your area.

Wow. I didn't expect every post to deter me away from PWing. :yikes:

I'm willing to work, I know I'll have to.

Basically there a ton of guys in Florida -that is all. Doing a hotel this weekend feel free to fly into Louisville - we'll be 30 minutes from there. We are working all day Saturday and most of Sunday. May be more worth it if you were closer...

Nobody is trying to deter you from pressure washing. Pressure Washing can be a very lucrative business. The Florida market is saturated (no pun intended), profit margins from what others have shared are much less than other regions.

Have you done your research and completed a professional business plan ? That is step #1.

Keep asking questions here and elsewhere, use the search option. Lots of valuable information on these forums, and an equally amount of professionals that are willing to help.

Alan, did you ever find any equipment?

I have not purchased any yet, but that is because I want to know what I am doing before "taking the plunge".

I was thinking that by knowing what is going on, it might also help with the purchasing of the items I need.

I have a list of the items I am looking at, but just waiting on learning the machine first.

Give me a call I am just a few miles from your area, I have some equipment for sale, and have a program for learning the biz.

Alan, washing is the easy part (well kind of), it's the other part of running a Pressure Washing Business that's hard.

Do you know your "Demographics"? Do you know your "Target Market"? Do you know what your "Market Saturation" is?

What's your Budget? How much are you going to spend in Advertisement? What type of Advertisement are you going to use? Are you going to have a website?

I could go on and on, but the thing is to look into the "Running The Business" part first, equipment last.

Good Luck!!!

That is exactly why I have asked Alan twice if he has done a business plan.

I can't tell you how many helpers we go thru they all think they can hang till they come out for a day. Not trying to deter you. Just letting you know what you are in for. Call me anytime you want and you are welcome to come and try different equipment hell I have 4 macines and 7 diffrent surface cleaners

Show-off! :rotflmao1:

I have 20 or so houses to wash in the next week, so if you're looking for a "baptism-by-fire", come on up to VA! (Actually, 12 are houses I volunteer {expenses paid} to wash for my local Paint Your Heart Out campaign coordinated by the Rotary Club.) I run 8 gpm, 120* and downstream, averaging 1000 sq ft of house per hour - including driveway.

Scared of heights? we have 165' foot job coming up.:grin-angelic:

I will let you come with us this week or next.
