Hoses

We are running 2 5gpm machines together. We are getting 10 gpm. We have yellow goodyear 4000psi hoses from Northern Tool. The machines are both 3500 psi. We seem to be going through hoses with the extra gpm. What kind of hoses are being used on the higher gpm setups that will last?

What's going on with the hoses? Ends leak, blowouts for no reason?

Are you using 3/8" or 1/2" hoses?

Havn't had that problem yet but I am definitely going to get some 1/2'' for when they are connected. The psi loss was alot more than I thoght it would be. Went from 3500 to about 2200 psi.

there is a reason.

the hose supplier probably does not skive the hose. you should skive the hose if you are using hot water for pressure wasing

skive is top take the rubber cover off the hose where you crimp the fitting.

that way you crimp the fitting right onto the wire,

steel to steel crimp, fitting stays on forever the hose is what blows never the fitting

is the flow through each hose 10gpm or 5gpm?

I think that hose sucks! I bought that hose when i first started and i had the same problem at 5gpm hot water. I think that hose is rated for only 2-5gpm and 3k psi. just cant remember where i read it..

Get a better hose. you are useing too much pressure for that hose.

Get a two wire hose. If you find that your hoses continue to fail, upgrade to the heavier hose. Some complain about the weight especially if you are going to upgrade to 1/2".

There is a reason for the ends continuing to blow off. Seems like you have had some pressure spikes?

Have you thought about using a short whip at the gun and a gun swivel?

Do you have a flow sensitive unloader? Using a flow sensitive unloader will relieve some of the stress on the hose and fittings.
