Cold calling With DJ

#1... Knowledge

#2... Price

#3... Dependability

Interesting, Guy.

Ideally, then, your estimate proposal packages to PM's should obsess over your team's industry-leading knowledge in your local market, if you can communicate that in an honest and authentic way.

Secondly, it should place substantial emphasis on price, and position your company as the most sensibly priced solution.

Lastly, you should establish some unique reliability protocols, supporting your branding efforts to position your company as incredibly and uniquely dependable solution.

The goal is to be a chameleon with integrity. Position your company to give your PM customer exactly what they want more than anything, better than anyone else can.

Kevin, I,agree with that 100%. That's just taking the bull by the horns.

But if the bull takes you, you just have to go with it and hang on. Trying to bs will backfire

I guess it depends on what you consider BS.

Making yourself scarce isn't always BS, it's a choice to limit your availability.

You are an entrepreneur. You make your own schedule. If you're unavailable, you're unavailable. End of discussion, right?

You could be golfing, eating, sleeping, or watching NASCAR on TV. Up to you.

"If the bull takes you", you can always "juggle" your schedule, and decide to accommodate the client's specific scheduling request. They'll feel special, you'll seem reasonable and helpful, and everyone is happy.

I hear you, though. Lying about imaginary jobs is different. And wrong.

Many sales training can overlap, most of the fundamentals the same.

It's all about how you get to the end results.

You are 100% right, Ron.

You can sell diamonds, powerwashing, laundry detergent, or Lamborghini's using the exact same techniques.

Marketing is marketing.

I'm currently consulting with and helping companies sell their stuff even better in these diverse industries:

Hedge Funds
Fitness Clubs
Telecommunications
Landscape Design & Construction
Lawn Care
Massage Therapy
Custom Cabinetry
Tool & Die
Pressure Washing
Window Cleaning

And I use the same methods with all of them.

It's all the same.

1 - How my service will directly benefit the PM (making him or her look good)
2 - Can I do what I say I can do
3 - trust

Interesting response, Doug.

Let's assume you're correct.

Imagine if your estimate proposal very clearly and honestly said:

"When you're choosing a pressure washing contractor, the most important factor to consider is : Is this company going to make me look good?"

What if your tagline was: "We make you look good."

What if you created some unique protocols, so that none of your competitors could possibly make a PM look better?

That's the beauty of starting with your customer, and then reverse engineering the solution he craves the most.

It really comes down to giving people exactly what they want, better than anyone else can.

Good stuff - been away for a while so it was a nice refresher.

Still learning still growing. Cardon is slick the only thing is if I catch a speaker/coach tell some one to lie (i have an appointmnet when they really don't) I'm done with them.

Kevin is dead on the correct way to say it is I am unavailable.

I make my own schedule. I only listen to my Voice Mail at noon and 4, I never answer my cell from a number I don't know, It is always on silent unless i'm expecting a call, I only text for emergent matters, and I deflect a lot of request from clients. Why? Because I have a life style now that I enjoy. I no longer work 60-80 hour weeks. I work less, make more and in less time. So I get to enjoy life!

There is no need to ever lie to a client but it is okay to schedule them at your convenience.

I don't do much cold calling for EasyPro anymore as we are about to capacity, BUT it is a GREAT way to grow a business and I have done alot in the past!

Funny, one of the shining spots of my business or my customers is, if They call me, they get me. if not immediately, within fifteen minutes. They like it, and they feel compelled to give me more business. It is interesting how everyone has a different idea on what makes heir business successful, or what a successful business is.

Scott, in the office the phone is to ring not more than 2 times with out an answer. I was speaking about my cell phone which only my VIP clients receive access to.

We all can't be expected to reach that level of accomplishment Ron. Keep working at it. You will get there one day brother!

One day will get there, I suppose that will mean I don't have to answer phone at all.

Any other tips?

I would think that you would want to make sure to respond to the VIP customers even more quickly. If they are important enough to have my cell phone number, they are important enough that I need to answer it.

It has been my experience that one of three things can happen as a customer waits for a response. 1. Things will blow over, because they had a knee jerk reaction to something 2. They will sit and stew and problems will escalate and become worse or 3. They had an emergency that they needed taken care of, and because I did not answer, the customers needs won't be met.

I guess it is all a different philosophy of doing business.

It's a new age of doing business. Unfortunately for me I like to eat. Cell phones on my side unless its transferred to Tim. That happens for me on vary rare occasion.

Bottom line is I'm usually always in touch , my youngest in training on garages. He called me at 5 am on vacation to tell me it's not as bad as he thought.

I guess I just enjoy it
