What are the powers of the ORGS?

Greetings:

We have been in business for 8 or 9 years, we have completed hundreds of commercial and govt projects and never once has the question been asked....do you belong to the PWNA, IKCEA and so on. More like a question of stability and experience would be asked. I have always wondered what these ORGS do for the contractor? DO they have a any legislative issues before state or federal regulators, do they halo craft legislation to further our industry? Does any of the dues that are paid to these ORGS every get delegated to a lobbying firm?

I can see joining the BOMA or ICSC cause the members of these groups see return of investment via sales call from PM and PO, who want to deal with someone directly inside that particular organization. As well these ORG offer group health benefits and business association benefits.

????????????

Are you referring to the innate parasitical structure? Or the shameless and constant ramblings of the illusion of security & experience (should you decide to pay the fee) your membership would be afforded?

:idea2:Thats what I thought.....I can see 0.0% of these orgs helping me.

Buit if someone can point out maybe even just a few benefits, I would love to hear them.:blink:

Thank

Joe Crowder

The orgs serve zero purpose other than to collect money and make someone feel important. Likewise, I have never had a client ask about orgs or other such nonsense. If you feel the need to spend money on an org, donate to a charity instead.

I just sent you some. A lot of the round tables are out together by Ron. He is not an Org and doesn't pretend to be. He does it to help the industry. He is a better man than me because I want all in the industry to fail so I have less competition

Thanks William , hope to see you in Florida. Of not for sure charleston.

Orgs built my business, do you need them? No

if you sign up and expect work to come flowing your nuts. I can tell you that I have made very good relations with customers and contractors that have benifited me.

This bbs is an association and helps each person that posts and those who choose to just look.

Roundtables have been valueable to me and others. I say you cannot afford not to attend a roundtable. Not because I'm the ring master but because they are networking events power packed with knowledge. That's what makes them powerfull.

Plus you get to see guys that are the real pros on the biz. Meet guys like me on the way out. Unlike most in this industry I'm done after 30 years. I hold secrets that can have you retired in 10 years. What's that worth???

I belong to both the IWCA and PWNA. Have I recieved work from them? No I havent. I won both membership, but both have been benifical to my business. But offer great resources that I wouldnt have got other wise.

Round Tables.... I believe that if you attend one you and your business will be changed. When we attended our 1st RT I just got laid off. I didnt know what to do. The information that was shared and the contacts I made, well lets just say it changed everything about the way I run my business and has taken me to another level that I can honestly say I don't think I would be at in my business if I didn't attend.

Ron is a great guy and will do just about anything when it comes to our industry. When Ron speaks I listen, when Ron post I read. I have learned so much from him as well as others in the industry.

I know I wouldn't be where I am in my business if if wasn't for all 3. Thats just my .02

Nothing in Life is free Lou, you missed the one in Phx. You might have made some good contacts. We had customers at the round, a few guys obtained business from the meeting and bid some projects they are still doing today.

Jim missed his own roundtable also.

When you guys learn the value of networking and how valuable it is you will understand how it works.

At the last phoenix lunch I hired a fellow that has closed around 165,000 in annual agreements for my companie. He shares revenue now and wants to sell more. He loves the deal and I frankly love having someone hungry in the stable.

Lou as I recall you belong to an asian group that you use? Do you belong anymore or didnt that work out?

If y'all start that infamous green dot Ponzi scam again there's gonna be trouble.

Nothing in Life is free Lou, Your right NOTHING is free...I left home when I was 13 (and daddy didn't leave me remnants of anything to build on) I did it on my own! you missed the one in Phx. I didn't miss it I refused to go! You might have made some good contacts. I make contacts everywhere I go your meet & greets do not hold exclusivity in these matters We had customers at the round, a few guys obtained business from the meeting and bid some projects they are still doing today.

When you guys learn the value of networking and how valuable it is you will understand how it works. Networking? Like when someone I know tells someone they know "hey these guys do the chit right"!! You mean that kind of networking? Well hope so, cause that method has gained us 73 locations in the past week.

At the last phoenix lunch I hired a fellow that has closed around 165,000 in annual agreements for my companie. He shares revenue now and wants to sell more. He loves the deal and I frankly love having someone hungry in the stable. What's the point of addressing this one?

Lou as I recall you belong to an asian group that you use? Do you belong anymore or didnt that work out? I'm not certain of the group you speak of.

I just took some away from you for that Thad.

And I added them back...

Just an opinion on organizations, any organization be it church, boy scouts, or the PWNA. An organization is only as effective as first the leadership, and second, what you are willing to put into the organization to make it work. I am not one that is quick to join any organization, but, for the first time since PWNA has been established, I decided to join. Why? because I saw that they were finally making inroads to establish themselves with other groups to be an organization with expertise. So, I bought in, and am going to see if I can make a little but of a difference. For me, it is a huge gamble. Will it pay off? I don't know, but the chances of it paying off are closer now than I have ever seen them before.
