Your First $ 4 Figure job

How about your first five figure job?

Havent made it there yet pressure washing. Ive got a few bids out that would be nice to get.

Easily topped 6 figures ago building homes but the profit margins there are completely different than washing.

We do lots of apartment communities, townhome communites, etc....these are all 5 figure jobs. The first one was about 5 years ago, I got in and am still in good with a GC that specializes in apartment work....that one was $19,500. We just finished a huge community with roofs that was much more than that.

We also do quite a bit with several local counties, school boards and hospitals we did two jobs today....one was a county admin building for $4,500 the other was a medical building and sidewalks for $2,300. Not bad for a Sunday......the best part was I was at the pool with my kids.

2007 Townhome community with 198 units. Washed all the brick steps leading to each unit, driveways and garage doors. Next one was an apartment complex.

For grins and giggles, my average invoice for the last 13 years has been over 4 figures. That is how long we have been using quickbooks. I don't know what they averaged for the 7 years before that.

My first 4 figure was $1362 for a roof cleaning.

First day of running the truck got a call for an emergency snow melting job, concrete pour was happening the next day and they need a foot of snow removed from the entire floor of the building. 5 figures, ah 6 figures did that one last year with a job. That was a big job and a big risk, but the rewards should benefit my grand kids hopefully.

First 4 figure job was a parking garage I picked up and did alone $4965 almost killed me .. LOL First 5 figure job was a limestone building took 1 week and we made $47,000 . First 6 Figure contract we still do and picked up 3 years ago at $562,000 in 6 months every year.

I remember getting a deck clean and stain job my first year in business for around $800 and I thought I hit pay dirt. Really I was getting paid dirt.

^^^ Gave me a good laugh JBurd. The phrasing, not the fact you didn't get paid well.

This is my first year working for myself, and that phrase applies to many jobs I've now learned from, haha!

I only charge $99 dollars for everything. lol

In my power washing adventure i remember my first one was an 1200 dollar strip and stain job on a small deck. I was so excited that i did it that I to tell someone in this community so I called Charlie and told him on my way home. My first 5 figure was a strip and re-stain of a house for just under 11k. Today most of my wood deck work starts at around 2k.I also do a few 4 figure house washes a year.
