Bid yesterday, do you guys have any expereince with these types of fans, looks easy. the whole top looks like it flips over for easy access to the duct and everything incuding breakers all together, with built in grease traps!!!!(large units"Green")about 4' square. at the base.

I think I know what you are talking about, the name of the fan escapes me though. Is it like this?
The center of the fan flips out so you can clean the fan blades, and the whole fan hinges back to access the duct. If that is it they can be easy to clean depending on the grease of course.
I wish every fan manufacturer had cleaning in mind when they built them.

Yes thats right! they look real easy to gain accsses. but whoever cleaned the last time never got the duct, about 1" of grease in the duct! wont swear but the earlyst tag reads somewere around 2000?

thats the nature of this business, you never know what you may find when you get into new work. Fly by nighters! or someone who just doesn't care.

I think their made by Greenheck
All carbon steel.. real heavy duty
We have a chain of steakhouses to do in a couple of daze that have these units over the solid fuel pit.... they do leave a lot of room just a bit tight when trying to get inside the cabin of the fan, and it seems that no one cleans the grease containment box and ball valve on the side
