Problems landing jobs

Work has been real slow lately. Probably for a good month I've only had 2 clients. I did some door to door hangers, I'm now almost number one in google for searching power washers in my area. Yahoo, I'm there and Im with superpages merchant circle, I have done the html editing I need to like Mike had suggested at the KY convention. It's just been slow, not sure what else to do.

Anyone got any ideas? Kind of hitting rock bottom.
Thanks.

Go door to door if you have hot water and want commercial work, don't wait by the phone to ring.

Door hangers only work sometimes and that is if they are well designed, have a good message along with a good call to action.

Don't leave all your eggs in one basket (waiting on calls from the doorhangers), you have to advertise all over the place to find out what media works best for your area, your business and your type of customers.

Maybe drive around and see houses that need your service and go talk to them, sometimes great businesses are built from starting at the bottom and meeting with potential customers. That is how both my dad and brother started their businesses, there was no internet back then and one of them still does not own a computer and has built a great business over the past 40 years.

Are you looking for residential or commercial or both?

ya beat me, well said! Most of my work comes from me knocking on doors, then they tell their friends and so on.. advertising here hasnt been worth the money

Ryan, you got to hit the streets Buddy!!! Knock doors, beat on doors, kick them in. Get in front of customers. You're selling a personal service..... So Get Personal!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend might be a great time to do that, find a place where there will be a bunch of people, take your rig, and start passing out cards.

GET VISIBLE!!!!

The net, hangers, YP, will only do so much, time to roll Brother!!!!!!

Try to get to a round table. There is a lot of great advice from Ron and other PWs

How many guys knock on doors? The neighborhoods we tend to market to frown on soliciting like this.

Is it fruitful? Do you leave them with a flyer and an Estimate if they say "no"? Do you tell them that you are in the neighborhood now and offer a "discounted" price?

Is this done on weekends when most people are home or during the day? I would think that most female homeowners would not feel that comfortable with someone knocking on their door.....

Please offer input, I have many employees who are motivated to work non-stop.

Please share your techniques, your sales presentation, your close. This is something that we have rarely done and I am not sure that I am a fan of it.

Thanks,
Mike

dress nice, have your rig if you want, see what needs to be cleaned bring it to the homeowners attention.. if they're not home leave your card. weekends are good or later in the day. if you do happen to do a job in a nice neighborhood talk to the neighbors. The lonely housewive will usually answer the door and not be scared, but then again that depends on whatever area your working.

Mike, I never sell when I knock doors. I also service high end gated communities, and have never been asked to leave.

And whats your Major Malfunction Chief ?????????

Ryan is or was a United States Marine. Maybe that doesn't mean much to you, but it means a Hell of a lot to me!!! He is just asking for some help, thats all. Smart A$$'s we've got plenty of, Heroes we don't have enough of!!!

beat the streets, I have very few leads coming in from my website ever and about 20% of those are good leads the rest are one time cleanings or residential work.

There is only one way to sell your service, get in front of the customer and inform them of what you can do.
