Ordered an IPad

I ordered my IPad 2day. Anyone else besides ron have one? I think this will be HUGE in my sales presentations. I found a statistic the other day that stated a electronic presentation closes on average 20 to 25% more sales. Also with the 3g I can now take deposits on the spot. As well as offer a %5 discount if paid in full in advance with a credit card.

This little machine are pretty amazing. I will have a video to show them, a photo album to present as well as just being out of the norm and having a new piece of technology that most contractors will never have. It will also stream line my office process as well.

I think I made a great decision to purchase this.

Apple rocks ..... I like my iPhone 4g. Hd video i great on it. But I think I will stick with my hp tablet. It has windows 7 touch screen just like the iPad. Plus my customers can sign the tablet. You guys keep us informed can you run a printer from a iPad...? What other benefits do the iPad offer???

Lou, I never even heard about the hp tablet, just had to look it up. There are chinese tablets that work with droid for $150.

DJ the Ipad is sick, I cant put mine down. As for presentations just make sure you do them inside, its very hard to view the screen in the sunlight.

I would recommend getting the connector to dump pics from your camera onto it, and get the app called "things" - Its improved my personal productivity quite a bit.

Enjoy it!

Droid rules!!!

They will eliminate the Apple syndrome....soon enough....it will be a Google world soon enough.

Google has been soliciting the US govt for a while now to open up some public frequencies (white space) that are not used or are soon to n ot be used, and they are the perfect type for free air high speed broadband.

Google has another great service for free here http://www.google.com/tisp/

We just installed it today and works awesome, fast and free!!

I say that Google / ANDroid rules as if I own anything that runs it , but I do not, not yet anyway, I have been riding the Bill Gates pain train for too long, all of our mobiles are windows mobile based, and the bite, this is our fourth set of windows Mobile's, and will be the last!

Apple? Great for play.....but never for business, unless your business is graphics or video, which I don't think that anyone here does full time.

I found a statistic the other day that stated a electronic presentation closes on average 20 to 25% more sales.

Absolutely correct, and it is a great idea, but want to a go a step cooler, get a mini projector and blow them away by projecting onto just about any way even in high light areas, I met with a rep last week that had one and he did his presentation on the office wall, blew everyone away.

2 IPADS? That might be construed by some Dem's as excess and waste by bussiness......but at least you can use them as really cool coasters soon, as soon as they come out with a cooler version of the IPAD that everyone will rush out to get, and that newer cooler version will make the old pad look useless, thus the Apple syndrome continues.....

That touch screen idea of having customers sign sounds cool, do you have it integrated into a form?

Tom I made a small video on the hp tablet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cW5lwh4jVg

Dj showed me the hp tablet about 2 yrs ago. I bought this one last Aug. Its pretty nice. I would like to know what all apps you guys are using on the ipad for your businesses. Can you print, use microsoft word, ect....

I ended up buying a bluetooth keyboard for mine, because I am using it almost the same way I used to use my laptop, until it went for a higher cause. I loveit, but it is just the wifi version.

I just can't force myself to do it.

I resisted the limited Ipods and waited a few months for MP3 players that would play all my downloaded music.

I resisted the Iphone and got a Windows phone which can do just about anything I can do on my computer Plus take video that looks like a camcorder on youtube. I've lost less than 5 calls in five years due to signal in normal cities and travel corridors.

Now I'm resisting this Ipad after trying it out at Ron's a couple of weeks ago.

Downloaded videos play just fine - But I could do that on a digital picture frame!

Over the air videos are hit and miss. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

I've had a tab on my screen for days with a chinese Droid based APAD waiting for me to hit the button to order. It's around $130. The drawbacks are it is 7 inches instead of 9.5 and battery time is 2 hrs as opposed to 10 AND it's wifi only.

They do have a 10 inch model that has an 8 hr life and 3g that is in China right now but I can't find it for sale anywhere on the net. I really want that one. I've got a friend who goes to China every two months or so, maybe I'll call and see if he will pick one up for me. Supposedly the price is around $200.00.

I just can't jump on the Apple bandwagon after all these years of resistance.

Love my Droid, too many free apps to try. I considered the tablets but the image can be real hard to see for others when you are holding it. We stick with the brochures for now, but let us know how it works in your business.

The Ipad in ten years will be what out look is today .... It's not about refraining from buying it ... it's about being the first and awing you customers ans showing true professionalism ... Ron I'm sure it won't be too long before every person in your sales staff is carrying one lol
