Ordered an IPad

Love my Droid, too many free apps to try. I considered the tablets but the image can be real hard to see for others when you are holding it. We stick with the brochures for now, but let us know how it works in your business.

Bill I have used the taplet and its nothing in comparison to this Ipad.

Dj let us know how it works out for you! We have been thinking about getting one but cant decide!

Your mom Watched the expression on a face of a possible customers while she was here last week, The man after he saw the video steered us right to the person in charge to get the property list. BINGO

The Ipad in ten years will be what out look is today .... It's not about refraining from buying it ... it's about being the first and awing you customers ans showing true professionalism ... Ron I'm sure it won't be too long before every person in your sales staff is carrying one lol

Kory - Time Management my friend

With a new add on coming out every six months that could have easily come out on the first one (Camera - better speed - more memory - etc) the way Jobs always delivers a product, in ten years you will have spent over $4500 just trading up and will have 5 or 6 coasters with an Apple logo on them on your end tables.

A true professional would laugh at an Ipad offered to the public without a camera on it. Even the lowliest netbooks come with camera's now. :)

As far as the Iphone goes, a true professional would also be more concerned with being available for his customers and his help via a reliable carrier (i.e. verizon) than having the prettiest, newest Iphone.

Try running a delivery business on anything other than Verizon. I did and it wasn't pretty.

I guess you and I just share a different view of what's professional.

I watched the Ipad wow Ron's customers. It was the size of the product and the video that had them in awe, not the fact that it was an Ipad. If it was a turd that thin with clear video they would have been stunned. Unfortunately reception was what brought the entire demo crashing again and again and left us to resort to playing a pre recorded demo of another PM's property.

How's that for professional.

I'll stick with something that offers it's customers value. I guess I lack professionalism that way.:dirol:

PS> awing isn't a word.

Ron, you are right about the product making a good impression. But it did so in spite of the fact that it was an Apple product. :eek:uttahere:

So Dj hows it working out SO far? Im now trying to decide what I want to buy. The cheaper Augen that Tony posted about, or the Better Ipad...

Some more info on the Augen.

The Augen will play youtube, but it won't play flash as of yet.

The big negative about it is it doesn't have a method to go into portrait mode. I don't like that.

Shelly thinks it's slow too. I think it's pretty fast.

I just got an 8gig card to put some of our videos on so we start next week taking it with us to new prospective customers to show them what we do.

I don't know about DJ, but mine is great. Apps are out there but finding them is hard because folks leave negative feedback if it costs $$$. So it is hard to determine BEFORE you buy an app if it's any good due to the baseless negative feedback. 9/10 time I see the App feedbacks boil down to the fact the user didn't realize they would need to subscribe to some other monthly fee etc to use the app fully so they leave bad reviews even if the app/service is a good one.

Anyhow, that is my only negative concern with iPad. The apps are hard to find without some trial and error because you can't trust the reviews.

My son is learning math much faster and having fun doing so now that we let him use the iPad and some cool educational apps.

No flash on the iPad either.

But how have you used it for your business? And how has it helped? Im not into buying toys. I will only send the money on something like this if it will help my business...

Keynote.... One of the best presentation apps ever. Like powerpoint but with a more "apple" artistic feel.

Emailing on the fly. Uploading pics in the field. Showing presentations to prospects. Taking payments.

Working on going paperless as soon as I create all new proposals/contracts with the "Pages" app.

Scott, My sales guy goes out to centers, fast food joints and restaurants and takes pics from his blackberry and emails it to the Ipad where he attaches it to the Bid. He then Walks in and gives presentation of the bid and some before and afters of other jobs. He gets the contact info and emails a bid over on the spot.

When you are in the "Documents View" (Where you can scroll left/right to see all documents) You can tap the name of the document and it wil pop up the keyboard and let you change the name.

If you don't have a Internet signal can you tether this to a iphone and use the iphone's Internet?
MK i know you are running t mobile you need to down load PDA net.....I think only jailbroken iphones can tether. Then you can hook it to a computer out in the field. Or in your case tether to the ipad for signal if needed.
