All of a sudden a floor steam cleaning doesnt seem all that expensive...hmmmm? And I guarentee that this place wasn't even the worst that I have seen.

:kma:BRADENTON, Fla. - Two cheese or pepperoni pizza slices with a soda will cost you just $3.50 at Siciliano's Real Italian restaurant on 14th Street West in Bradenton. But while the pizza looks tasty, the place kept health inspectors busy recently.

"Were you aware that the restaurant was shut down for about 13 days because of a roach problem?" we asked.

"Actually, we were remodeling," answered Salvatore Migliore, the brother of the restaurant owner.

On April 21st, state inspectors found over 80 live and dead roaches on the wall, near the sink, under the cutting board, crawling on the floor at the pizza prep table, and behind the pizza oven.

Also that day inspectors found no certified food manager on duty and employees using their bare hands on ready to eat food.

That's when state inspectors ordered Siciliano's to shut down and stay closed for 13 days straight.

Salvatore Migliore said that the restaurant decided to shut down while they were remodeling.

On April 22nd, inspectors were back and found no proof of employee training, holes in the walls, ceilings in disrepair, and one cooler at 65 degrees instead of 41 degrees, which can spoil the food.

Over the last 15 months inspectors wrote-up 45 critical violations and came back to the restaurant five different times in April and May finding more roaches and other critical violations before allowing the place to re-open.

"Do you think the roaches came from the remodeling?" we asked.
"I think so," responded Migliore.

We did leave messages for Siciliano's owner several times over the last three weeks, but he never returned our calls

That is really Disturbing that a restaurant can operate like that, re-open and still have problems like what they had. Just amazing.

If you do KEC work you will see some disgusting places.
We do a restaurant that does 1.6 million dollars a year in sales that is utterly disgusting in the kitchen yet it is a 5 star zagat rated place. They GIVE us food when we clean it and we throw it and our clothes away at the end of the job every 3 months.

If you have a lite stumach don'ft eat at Bk in va beach area (any of them).
I have pulled fryers away frome the wall that you had to brake the grease cristals off of. How long dose hot grease hafto set to crystalize?
When you ask the Mngr. How to re-start the fryer when you are done they say I don't know we don'tturn them off. Then you find out the guy has been there 5 years. Make you forget about that Buck Double deal.
