THE SURFACE EDGER, that's right "EDGER"

Joe we don't bash your products. Could you have some respect for others around trying to better the industry.

I hope home depot runs commercials to home owners. I hope they invest millions to promote homeowners using and dyi pressure cleaning. I know this will make my market larger and make awareness to more people than I could ever touch. Directly this will make me more money.

I hope Bobs product works well. I'm always appreciative of guys that want to advance the industry.

Joe we enjoy your opinion so I hope you enjoy mine. Let's not turn bobs thread to junk.

How do you guy's feel about vendors marketing to OUR customers, whether they are HOA's property managers, homeowners, or just anyone that we sell to? I feel that they are doing a great injustice to us, the professionals by telling our customers or potential customers that the product that they sell is the answer to their problems. I do understand that distributors and manufactures are in it for the same reason that we are, to make money, however, when they take the approach that what we are doing is not top of the line and that they, the customers are not spending their money to get the best service that they can, we take the hit.

A particular instance is with the Surface Edger, I received a video for review,http://vimeo.com/14308464 while I believe that this product is a viable tool for us to use, marketing it to OUR CUSTOMERS as a tool for their use, and making any implications that they can do it for themselves does us no good. The very same is true with the Home Depots, Lowe's and in many instances local and nationwide distributors. I have heard it said many times that HydroTek directly markets to commercial customers with the same equipment that we use, while informing those potential customers that they can do the same thing that we do, for a lower price. I am sure that we all know that they can not and in the end will just make our industry look like we do poor work and charge too much.

When we look at the pictures above we can all recognize that this job was done by a professional, with the knowledge and skill needed to NOT disturb the landscape, a common problem that AMATEURS deal with. So what does this tell you? It tells me that no tool, no matter how well designed, will ever replace us, the professionals. And that we the professional need to start exercising our buying power, by making conscious choices or at least as many as possible and not by from our competition.

We have alot of desert landscape, not much lawn area at all. We are short on places to even try it.

I have one and will try it when we find a job. Since I do alot of commercial this tool might be better served to a residential contractor.

We have a project coming up with a bit of edging that might be good for this tool.

I couldn't agree more with you Ron. I have recieved sooooooo many of Home depots customers for cleanings this year. Even though they "already have their own PW they purchased from them".

I hope Bob's product works well also. I wish him luck and hope his product winds up on shelves from wal-mart to Lowes to Home Depot to Northern Tool.
I think it is a great tool for the contractor arsenal and has it's place in the DIY and contractor industry. Of course we all know how NOT to destroy edging and mulchwork because we are professionals with lots of experience.
However, I still think this is a great tool.

I am sure all of us have an idea that we have, that could benefit the DIY or Contractor industry.

Hell, personally, I have games, and inventions, and even a tool I designed for wood restoration that could cut spray time and mess down to nothing.
( regardless of the insane perception you folks may have of me)
I may or may not introduce these ideas to the gaming, PW, Music and Wood Resto industries some day. My choice. But if I do, I will push to anyone, and everyone. Which is just what needs to be done.

Point being, Bob HAS introduced his idea. Big step which requires big cahounas.

Much respect to you Bob for following through with your idea. I don't think you will be the next Howard Hughes with this one, but it sure is a step in the right direction.:clapping: Don't give up, keep monitoring the feedback you are getting. Best of luck.

Bob if you wanna help out make something like this.....With a splash shield for the mulch.............

I called the guy that invented the Curbie but he decided to not mass-produce it as there was not a lot of demand for it but it worked great for his purposes.

I think that is a great idea for certain jobs, another great tool to get the job done.

Thanks Bob for making a great product, my supervisor tried it on two projects. We had some office buildings we do quarterly and have had some complaints about the 3/4 minus stone geting messed up. He told me no damage or repairs was needed to the landscape and the tool actually save enough time on this one job to pay for itself.

I will have some video of us actually using it. I give this product a two thumbs up for a time saving tool. at the price its silly not to own one for this amount of money, if I was bob I would start charging double.

We have had the tool for around 6 weeks and have used on more than one project and it did take alittle time to use it like any manual tool.

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the review.
I do have a video that plays either in low resolution or HD.
Although it was intended for property management companies that do their own pressure washing it still shows how fast the surface edger works. By the way, in Florida when water restrictions are in effect property management companies have to hire PW contractors if they want pressure washing done, happens all the time.
Any ways, here is the link http://www.allprophoto.net/Surface_Edger/Blank.html
Thanks much,
Bob Hogan

I believe Rex of pressure washer products in Clearwater fl makes an attachment for curbs.
Thanks,
Bob

BRAND NEW TOOL ON THE MARKET CALLED "THE SURFACE EDGER"
ELIMINATES MUDDY MESSES AND FLOODING WHEN CLEANING HARD SCAPE

When cleaning driveways and sidewalks a surface cleaner is used.
When cleaning up the dirty edges the surface cleaner left behind a spray wand is used and that's when the hassle starts with mud flying and sometimes flooding. This is the slow tedious sloppy part of pressure washing.

THE SURFACE EDGER CLEANS A STRIP THREE AND A HALF INCHES WIDE FROM THE EDGE OF THE SIDEWALK INWARDS. VIRTUALLY NO MUDDY MESS AND NO FLOODING.

THIS TOOL WILL CLEAN AS FAST AS YOU CAN WALK AND LEAVE A PERFECT JOB BEHIND YOU.

ON A LARGE UPSCALE PROPERTY IT TAKES ME 10-15 MINUTES TO EDGE ALL OF THE HARD SCAPE "MAX"

E-MAIL ME AND I WILL E-MAIL YOU A BROCHURE WITH PICTURES AND INFO. VIDEO WILL BE COMING SOON.
THANK YOU,

Who wants to Demo the Edger, I used it with great success. I have no intentions of needing it for the type of work I do.

Anyone else that would like to Demo this unit and pass it on?

So ron how did your guys like tool did they find easy to use and did not have spray back on them. I thinking of geting the tool I tired looking like just walked out the mud waste high.

Its works well, we dont have alot of Grass and Black soil here. Mostly rocks, fine rocks.

Ron,
