Missing website manager

1. You have to have the html files to modify.
2. You have to have access to those files (password) on the server to get those files if you don't have them already. (Which by the way everyone should have in case your web guy becomes MIA like this)
3. If don't have the above and your guy is hosting the site you are SOL until you change hosts. If he's not get a hold of the hosting co. and change the password ASAP and a new web master can run with it.

then you should be ok, you may need to fax over some info but you are the registrant and tech contact so give them a call

it would be good to have your billing CC with you if you have it

Give me a call if you want to change your site, in a life long ago I used to do this for a living, i have all the software to change code easily.

I have the password and have changed it. I found where to go to download all the pages and code, just don't have the software. He used Adobe Dreamweaver. Would I have to have the same software he did to do anything with it?

Make sure to change the password, or he can get back in, the Dreamweaver suite is a top end editor, depends on code style, need to look to see if it CSS or PHP or any other coding style, you can edit code raw if you know what you want to change but with out a WYSIWYG platform it is all just line code that you can download into any text editor, that takes some serious skill to do it raw, but can be done, if not you may be able to take it into some basic programs, I do not know if any are free on the net, but some real cheap ones are available at the big box office stores for under $50.00

Your page has some flash in it so it will be a little more difficult, but not impossible.

Isn't there a web guy / graphic artist that comes here, that just got back into business, I saw some of his work, and he is good, nice clean style. AFFORDABLE?

No any HTML software should work. It's not rocket science but you can really screw up a website with the slightest goof. I know I've done it. You will also need FTP software to download and upload your files.

Take Joe up on his offer.

My website guy has disapeared on me and I don't have any software to work on it myself. Anybody here a closet website guy? Give me a call or email or IM me. I need to make some changes and don't have a clue how to get control of my own site.

This happen to me a while back, right out of the blue.
I lost over 500 pages to my website, it was a hit for sure.

That happened to me when kbk went MIA. I went in and did editing myself on some basic information. The pictures and videos I must admit were something I was reluctant to do for fear of crashing the site. Ive asked kbk just recently to assist me with this issue. Hope he responds.:butcher:

Seems like a big gamble with your livelyhood to have it go down or not be ableto get changes done.
