Workers..? Problems and hassles..

So far, all the work is done by me.If I need equipment worked on I barter my services to a co-worker who is a little more technical than myself. If I need someone to help me hang door flyers I barter for any help.I think the key is making sure any worker/employee doesn't know how much you are making per job. But, what if they break a window using your washer?Even if your insured legally speaking you need to have workers comp and with all the extra hassles I would just assume do that myself .I guess its just a dilema that at one point i'll cross.

Liability insurance is what's involved in the case you described. Worker's comp is involved when your employee gets injured on the job site and instead of your worker suing your client, your worker's comp takes that charge. If it's you, as an owner of the business, you are exempt from worker's comp.

Why do you need someone to help you hang door hangers? Don't go to fast here. Sounds like you just started washing, if so, YOU have to do everything YOURSELF unless family or friends want to help for free. Don't get ahead of yourself and start thinking about employees. You have to bust your hump just starting out, you have to live and breathe your business, no employee is going to do that for you in the beginning. No one is an overnight success. It takes around 3 years of busting your hump just to start seeing it possibly pay off, start getting referalls and repeat customers. If you think you have to have someone help you put out door hangers, you better think again and get your butt out there and do it before, during and after you wash something and if you are not washing, sleeping, kissing the wife & kids, you should be working to grow your business. So if your lucky and hardworking enough you can someday hire an employee is 2-10 years

Your Right..

Well one owes me money and can't work so I take off a little of what he owes me (since he wont be able to pay me back for awhile)the other I just trade helping him..Other than door hangers is there any other things that might work and have a return?Im quoting insurance now..
