Have you tried a BFH?:nanner:

Depending how old the bearing is you may have to plasma cut the bearing off to rebuild the swivel. Do you use hot water ? I cant seem to get more than 100-200 hours out of a rebuilt swivel when using hot water 200 -250 degrees. My big guys swivels have had bearings cut off 3 times each, start carrying an spare swivel for each unit. Regards

Have you had swivels rebuilt over at Pressure Washer Service?

I was only getting about 3 months out of a set of bearings and seals in the Big Guy and Classic but over there at Rex's shop they rebuilt them last year around the time of the Tampa event with different bearings than what are normally put in there and I am still going strong with those swivels, over a year later.

They have a new swivel design that you just change out the whole cartridge instead of pressing bearings off/on and dealing with the seals. I heard that the changeout only takes less than 10 minutes and no press involved. They increased the pressure rating to 5000psi but the heat rating is still only about 212 degrees.

The swivel is about $225 and the cartridge is about $125 if I remember correctly.

No I rebuild all myself.

I have had to remove the swivel head from the deck, lock it in a vise, and pry between the housing and rotor. Another trick might be to put a plug in where the bar mounts and a QC plug where the hose mounts. Hook it to the pressure washer gun and see if it'll blow out. Just be careful where you point it.

Probably the difference between Japanese and Chinese bearings.

You can soak the area between the head and the bearings with a liquid wrench or something. The steel and alum housing will corrode and make it difficult and best to repair.

For what it is worth I would look into converting it to a Mosmatic swivel. I converted one of mine about a year back and it still runs smooth as ever. All you need is the swivel, adapter plate and a adapter fitting for the arm. Be sure to get the swivel with the npt thread because their regular one uses a European thread.

i got it off finally it required a jack a chain and the mounting bracket and it finally let me crack it open. had some minor corrosion and i just soaked it in vinegar and a little CLR. working great not and saved 50$ in labor by doing it my self and learned allot! Thanks for all the advice!
