You can get someone to do that for $8 an hour? Hold on to that guy! I would have to give my guys some kind of incentive to climb into a duct like that, or they wouldn't do it. I have one account that has a 3 foot Dai round duct that runs about 75 feet horizontal, the easiest way to clean it is to have someone crawl through dragging the hose and gun with him, cleaning as he goes. That guy gets a $100 dollar bonus on top of his hourly wage. It takes about 3 hours to do.
It wasn't always that way, but one day the job market became such that people would quit on the spot rather than do something extra ordinary like crawling through a greasy duct, and be working elsewhere the next day.
