+1 one the Orings, SH will weaken them for sure. Anyone that might be interested, here is a chart from Cat Pumps of various chem-comps...

Great list, but if you're in a bind and have a good relationship with your local Grainger, they have a similar list on hand as well. The 800 number will answer related questions too, but it takes two cell phone batteries to get someone on the line!

About the picture posted above...
It seems you forgot to read the water mark...

I've got 4 but how did you get that pic?

That gentlemen is a GP5000, I'll post no more on this subject.

Old post diving on TGS, a good investigator has multiple sources.

Very good, there are a few ways to get to where you want to get each have their limitations as well as strong points. Very situational.

Im thinking compressed air. Im trying to find additional info on the foam it 5. The web site is limited.

The foamit 5 has some internal parts made of plastic that will fail with what KEC demands of it.

I'll search for my pics

Do you know if I can get stainless steel replacement parts for it, or parts at all?

I'm using SH beads, dawn and water so far and it seems to be cutting the gease quite well

Maybe go to the source then.
There are lots of posts from the members of TGPA that mention how tired they were of everyone bugging them about how to build a foamer, I really don't want to be know as a PITA. Maybe someone will offer an invitation to some incite sooner or later.

Buy the foam on 5! I still have my first one from about five years ago. The internal pump leaks and the regulator occasionally leaks out of its blow off valve, but it still operates when we need it to. The only real casualty was the bucket unscrewed while being carried up the ladder. We just set it on top of a new bucket (not actually attached). I've thought about reinstalling the guts in a smaller packing that would fit on a 2-3 gallon pump up sprayer can w/ strap to trow over the shoulder!
Anyone know how much they cost now?

I think the foam-it 5 is 600.00 something without the compressor and 900.00+ with. I got that from the foam-it distributor web site.

Our foamit 5 is probably my least favorite of the methods we use. "Chew on that one":bad:

Matter of fact it wasn't used once last year that I recall.

I believe that I've got everything I need to put a foamer together, minus a few small parts that shouldn't cost much. I think I've got about $40 tied up in the project thus far. Why would I want to spend $500 or $600 on a Foam on-5?

Just my opinion, mr foster. The only good reason i can think of to spend the 400-500 is that if the foam-5 was to explode and something go terribly wrong i could blame them and maybe a lawsuit.. aka" Mickey D's Hot Coffee law", if i built 1 myself and it jacked me all up..I would just be all jacked up........I can take my foam-5 apart for you and take some photos if you want other than that good luck hope it turns out well.

Thank you for your opinion Kevin, that truly has merit. Possibly when I have an extra 400-500 set aside for additional equip I will buy one. The next time you have yours apart and can remember, shot some pics and feel free to send them my way.

That is why I would suggest getting one. It was a turning point in our home-made foamers. Some might argue, but I believe there was night and day difference in foam seen on TGP before and after the foam-5. I don't mean videos of the foam-5, but the modified, home-made units!
The foamer we use 99% of the time is our modified version closely resembling a foam-5. And, it makes a great roof cleaner in the FL heat (helps slow evaporation)!
The more people we have innovating foamers, the closer we get to perfection!
Although, I'm not sure how much improvement we can expect! Who's using the downstreaming foamer that simply requires a "nozzle" change on the end of the pw wand? That looks very impressive! The only change I'd like to make to it is working it on a 1/4 in hose with a light touch unloader!

hmmm... Is there a parts list for the foam-5?
