Here's a tid-bit o' info the De-I suppliers DON'T want you to know..

"Soft water" is half way to spot-free.. ..that is..
Pre-Filter your water through a Soft-water system,
and your De-I tanks will last twice as long !
If you go through 2 sets of De-I tanks per month,
this cuts your use to only 1 set per month !
.. Expense off the cost of a $600. water softener from Grainger (click-link),
or Home Depot (click-link), over the next 2 years, and save a bunch !
Car Dealerships have proven this years ago.

Save yourselves some money !
..just do the environment a favor..
plumb the "flush-water" to water your yard, if you can.
same for the RO systems..
..divert all flush-water to your landscaping,
so it isn't wasted down the drain.

I'm glad to help you SAVE money :)

I have a water softener on my trailer, no DI there.

I have it plumbed so I can have the water go through it and then into the tank or bypass the water softener so the water goes straight into the tank.

these home-owner type systems normaly "sit in your garage".
Support it well for reliability, or the shell will fail.
You wouldn't want anything (especially top-heavy) to fly-off yur trailer. Eh?

I am ok, just replaced the old, worn out duct tape that was holding it on the trailer. hahahahahahaha j/k

I have it secured on the trailer and use it when washing fleets.

You can also rent soft water tanks that are similar to the DI tanks. I know who I have to talk to here, but it could be different anywhere else. It is typically a water processing supplier.

How much are they going for today Scott? When I rented they where around 45 bucks a charge. 90 now?

I think that the last tanks I rented were about $45 but I had been a long time customer. I stopped renting them a few months ago when I gave up my last fleet washing customer. I got mine from GE pure ionics.

Jerry ..Everytime time you post ...I learn something I didn't know before.
Plus you give great Descriptive and anecdotal information that make it a pleasure to read....... Thanks

Some people say just use rinse aid, some say you need a DI tank. Does anybody have any comments on results of Rinse Aid & DI tank?

Great tip Scott these youngsters never heard of the " Hey Culligan Man!!!"

Did anyone try the water softener before the DI tank?

I wonder what kind of results they got by softening the water first.
