IPAD Benefits

I am thinking about purchasing an IPad for the business and need to convince the business partner (wife) why I need that in addition to a new laptop, (my lap top took a dive yesterday).

I have heard that the Ipads are great for showing picture slide demo's. Can anyone help me with other uses as far as business and how and Ipad can be used? Thanks for the help.

I'm wondering the same. My big issue is that Excel is my god I use it for everything. I can't get a strait answer weather or not they have made it compatible or not. ffice:eek:ffice" />

Maybe will have another give-away down the road. Ask Paul if he is using the one he won for sales yet?

The ipad has and App for every feature

Hold off for the IPAD 2 probably early April. Apple is unveiling it next week. It's not a replacement for a laptop/computer but is a nice portable sales tool using photos, graphs, and Keynote presentations.

I haven't used it much yet for sales, still making the videos. I have done some sample presentations to people and it is a big hit. If you want to make a presentation to a customer I cannot think of a better way as everyone I have shown it to has had the initial reaction of "cool an Ipad", now their interested...

I wish that I was a customer...

Because, I'm absolutely Dieing to see to see an iPad in action!

Maybe someone could post up a short video for us? :bow-down:

I can see it being great for pic's, but I could get a digital picture frame for that couldn't I, I think they have the kind that do slide shows? Are there any specific apps that you guy's use for business, I guess is what I am trying to determine.

I have a slide show of work with a nice music, lasts about a minute. I then have files grouped into the type of job the customer is looking to purchase, if they still need some convincing. I then have all my job forms pre made to open up in a PDF file that I can create in front of the customer, complete with signature capture. Then I email them the completed form, right from the iPad. So all I carry in to the house is an iPad and a business card. It works like a champ. Keynote and numbers created the displays and forms on my Mac. I have those same programs on my iPad. The PDF form modifier I use is called Soft Sign - takes some time to get used to, I won't lie there.

I don't know if in Excel or Power Point, you can save a document as a apple friendly choice, but I'm sure there is an app that will modify it for you.

Mine is my second brain. The calendar is great, it has a digital note pad, check emails and surf the web, get directions, Look up sq footage, google property mgrs, all while on site. I use logmein and access my home pc and send estimates through quickbooks. When I travel I watch movies and listen to podcasts. Hell I would marry it if it could cook and clean.

I have the 3G AT&T 64gig original iPad

Just browse thru the business sections of iTunes and you'll find all kinds of goodies you can't live without! You can invoice, email, scan, fax, setup a free separate line for business, I just downloaded an app from Intuit that allows you to take credit card payments. They even send you a free credit card scanner that plugs into it. If you have to use walmarts service channel you can access it from there also. Pictures and video look amazing on it but they're only the tip of the iceberg. I have the same apps on my iPhone 4 also, you can literally run your business from your phone. Lemme know if you get one and need any help with the setup.

Thanks Robby yeah lot's a guys on here been using the Intuit for Credit Card Payments for a while. Great meeting you the other night and again thanks for dinner, Did you get a hold of Reggie yet?

Recently I made a presentation to about 20 people so I took a power point that we had on our office computer and moved it to the Ipad. We then hooked the Ipad up to a flatscreen T V that was on hand and was able to show the presentation to all 20 people. A few weeks later I meet with a PM of a new group of condos in town and show the same presentation to the PM. She was about to not give me the time to show to her but she really wanted to see how the Ipad worked (even if they have a Ipad they want to see how you are using it). At the end of the presentation she couldn't give me the paperwork fast enough so I could be setup to do work for them. BTW the presentation is mostly made up of before and after pictures of the type work that we do. I only wish that I had starting using the Ipad a long time ago. I would note also that I got the idea of setting up presentation on the Ipad from Ron. I didn't steal it he gave it away.

I have been wanting to do that very same thing for a while now, just have to get the IPAD soon so I can do that.

I hear that there are a lot of other brand tablet type pc's and other similar devices but have been told that they are not as good.

I really like the idea of just handing them the IPAD and letting them watch a very short slide show or video.

Okay, tell me about Logmein. I can access my office PC with my ipad or laptop? That would be so nice. Does it work well, and are there any security issues that you have found?

Works just like your sitting at your PC, connection of course on both ends will effect this.

First of all I didn't event the Idea. We actually leave them so they will play with them.
