Engine Belt system with 2 pumps and 1 voltmeter all running together?

Is it possible to take a Large engine such as a 40hp Kohler and run two seperate pumps and a Voltmeter on it all thru pullies and belts? Thanks in advance -- John T,

John look at the espec catolog for some ideas they have built exactly what you are thinking about. Then you can build or have someone build one for you.

Yes it is possible, you can even direct couple the generator (with a lovejoy connector or similar) if you run it at 3600 rpm.

I've tought about something like that in the future I run a two gun system that I wish I could use a gun and a surface cleaner at Same time.

John I built a machine that has a belt running a 5.5 gpm pump and a love joy running a 550cfm vac it's a 38hp diesel. I ran the machine and a burner for 3 8 hr days on 45 gallons of diesel. I would go the diesel route if I where you.

You can not Belt drive a Volt Meter. Just add it to the Battery System.LOL

Just built a setup like this myself.

35 hp Yanmar, with a clutch for side load + warm the engine up before engaging the pumps. Also allows me to start the engine without starting the pumps which is easier on the starter. 270 amp marine alternator off the crank on the front, so if the engine is running the alternator is producing. Alternator allows me to run the engine at low rpm's and still be able to to run the 120v burner with the help on an inverter of course. Everything is plumbed so the fuel for the engine + burner is pulled and returned to the 80g side tank, so no tanks in the truck, and no jerry cans needed. I figure with the diesel and being able to lower the rpms I will pay for the difference between the gas/diesel in the first year.

Grandpaw had a yanmar an he only got 12500 hr on it before he had injector go out.
