I have NEVER had anyone to ask if I was certified in anything?

I know the value of it as far as insurance that may give a break or something but really what does it do?

Ok I am certified! Isnt that like being a "certified" Ice cream tech at Baskin Robins? Certified means nothing to me other than a word, Like welders, some go to school and some dont and most all I know went only to the school of hard knocks and do a much better job than those who did.

To me, its just another way to make money for the org? Right?

Dont tell me it raises the standards because nothing is ever the same in house washing, you can wash homes for 20 years and still find something different to clean, work around and becareful of everytime.

Actually Russ it could be a great program and possibly help memebers separate themsleves from hacks

I only have 19 years in this business. I just did the Pwna house wash certification at the Texas rt. And I did learn a few things that I'm going to now apply to our house wash process. It will also give my customers even more piece of mind we are the best contractor for the job. It also helps support the reason why we are the higher price quote over the low ballers.
All for like $175. Are you kidding me. Do the math divide $175 by the number of houses you wash in one season.
ITS JUST SMART BUSINESS. This is the difference between a pressure washing business that does a few $100,000 annual in sales Vs. a pressure washing company that does $100,000 in a month in sales.
For years my attitude was like Russ's, but not no more I see the light and growth it now produces.

Oh, and it also helps support my industry.
When you child needs open heart surgery do you want the best educated doctor or do you want just the average doctor to do the surgery. Who would you pick?

Darn right, that is how seroius this business is to me.
It's as serious as a heart attack.
And this is one reason why I don't care to post. Kinda sorry I did now!

Just my opinion and experience. It's not for everyone, but it it's a great investment for us. But opinion' s on bbs 's get you slammed.

I stepped out of my box here. I need to stay quite and just continue to be a lurker works best for me.

This is BBS, everyone has there own thought.

I like the idea if certified guys in the industry.

Tony its not the 175.00, I can spend that much taking my family out to eat seafood in a night.

Its principal for me.

I just dont like certifications, I have been certified to clean wood for 5 years and only learned how in the last 2!

See the point? It means nothing unless you know how and if you know how and can sell you dont need it. I dont need it.

I kinda agree Russ, I have always felt the same in the past. I learned something that will help us to be a bit more efficient on the job and something that can aid in less issues with window spotting. Selling the service is easy! $175 investment just yield me less head aches and happier customers.

The over all point here is 19 years ago some of us old timers had no support because there was no bbs's, no house wash soaps, no advice, no classes to educate, no round tables, no major suppliers. If your young and new in this industry today you are lucky to have this at your finger tips and can find knowledge. The first five years of our business was a struggle with out no help, but I have a vision and once I found a group like everyone here, it got easier. Classes and education is a great institute and speeds up the learning process, it was not around or hard to find back in the day. It is a great tool and option for the right people.

We now have the choice YOU CAN TEACH A OLD DOG NEW TRICKS. I respect anybody's choice on how the sell and educate themselves.

You have got to try Hunt's in Dothan!!! $4.99 a dozen for great raw oysters. Six dozen is my max, but between a few cold ones of course.

I live at the beach big guy, in reality I wouldnt ever spend that much but when I was a newbie I would, mostly I was paying for flashy buildings, I have a place not a half mile from my home called "The Shrimp Shack" it looks like a run down old building but wow the food is the bomb and just like you said Oysters are cheap too, especially when I can go right to my recliner!

Wasn't me.

I opened it back up. If it was the pwna, who has mod abilities, they can close it again.
